Salesman at Mercedes tried to persuade me to buy one of these. But I went for the new top spec e-class instead, it's not as spacious but is much much better. GLE really does feel like an old car, whereas E-class has all the latest features and technology (It can drive itself on motorways. But that infotainment system really is the worst I've ever seen. Sat nav is a pain to use: ( so I'm probably gonna wait for the new 5-series and swap then

So, can we use this car as good replacement for s class. We are looking for best suv for tall man in sixties (grand daddy) can not jamp in easly in saloon car anymore and looking for SUV, but it looks like mercedes dont have right answer for s class comfort for driver. What you recommend for a business man that like comfort of s class and driving only mercedes last 30 years. :)

As I do fold the back seats down regularly and need a flat, and not inclining or stepped floor, then this way of folding the seats is the best way. It is not awkward and not 'old fashioned', why is it modern to accept a cheaper and compromised mechanism? You should be pulling manufacturers up for their shocking compromised and praising the likes of Mercedes.

Mat - How does the ride comfort in this compare with the XC90 (both on air suspension. I know the XC90 doesn't absorb bumps on rough roads that well. I'm having to decide between this SUV (with the new, smaller -43- petrol engine) and the XC90 T6 (must get a petrol SUV or I'll get DPF probs with my driving.

Personally thinking the command system is far much better than the iDrive. I don't like the fact with iDrive you have to keep on pressing the back button when returning to sat nav or audio. With command unit you just have to hit what ever option and then forget about it

Hello Matt. did you know that the swivel wheel underneath that touchpad can be moved left, right, up n down? Haven't seen u mention it any of the merc reviews. Been using my GLE for 3 years now, and I found this out today. thought i might share it with you. --

Hmmmm, the change to a unibody from a frame is new so I don't know how it's the same old ride. I wonder how much these presenters actually know about the product? -Porsche is better ride. - or do you Volkswagen Touareg? Because that's all a Porsche Cayenne is.

I've gone completely off Mercedes. This one is just so bland having to resort to fake intakes and outlets - and the so 80's running boards. The pedigree is gone but the low ranking on JD powers will remain I'm sure.

Merc is getting bad for cost cutting ideas, especially plastics. But then some BMW 3 series owners say their windshields are saint gobain and the side windows are some funky chinese brand. They're all doing it.
