Driving a Vitara 1. 4 GLX turbo now for a year. My impression is as follows:
1: excellent engine
2: excellent transmission
3: full of rattles (bad plastics mostly)
4: extremely bad handling
5: Steering system must be upgraded by Suzuki, it's horrible.
6: The plastics is definitely cheap and scratch easily.
7: It has lovely comfortable seats and loads of space for big people
8: It's not particularly great on fuel economy, but the engine performance makes up for that.
9: It looks great
10: The infotainment system sucks. There is no AF on the radio, and Android auto needs to be upgraded constantly to connect easily with the car, otherwise you struggle your ass off.
11: If I must turn back time and choose again will I buy it again. No, definitely not. It is just too expensive for what you get.

Here where I live (PH) the top spec Vitara gets a panoramic sunroof. It's pretty well specced: ABS+EBD+BA, tons of airbags, a big 10- screen, hill assist (or something like that, etc. although we only get the 1. 6L motor. I think we get a nicer grill though. Price is about--17, 550. The Hyundai Kona is sold by the same dealer in the same building for about -1K less. If I were buying in this class I'd have several sleepless nights deciding between the two. The Kona has a 2. 0L petrol (that's either a plus or minus depending on what a buyer prioritizes) and looks more dynamic, almost sci-fi, but the Suzuki seems to have more toys. Tough choice.

Been driving the 1. 4 Vitara for four months now, and I'm beyond happy. Got 6. 5 liter consumption round town and around 5 on highway. The engine is awesome and in this price range I couldn't find anything similiar. Evoque also starts at about 140bhp, as well as other premium brands, whereas in this price range they wanna give you lawn motors in Seat Ateca, Opel Crossland, Captur, Kia Stonic etc, they offer engines with 80 or 100 bhp. And since Vitara is lighter than all of them, the math is clear. Plus its beautiful. :)

Hey all, I own this car - any questions please ask! Overall, if you ain't a badge snob, get this car. Its like a Tardis, spacious but only 6- longer than the 2013 Ford Fiesta so great for parking, interior room is perfect and I'm 6-1. Toured around Scotland in it and it's just a pleasure to drive, handled like my old Fiesta but with more practicality, cushions the awful British roads and fun on the corners too, it doesn't roll which shows how well engineered this car is - Japanese know what their doing.

I have the szt with the 1. 6 petrol, and it's a brilliant thing! Get a real world 49 mpg, on a half hour commute on A and B roads, but if careful can get 55.
The only thing it lacks is a 6 speed box, which it is crying out for. Other than that, I would get one if you're thinking about it. Plenty fast enough, surprisingly so considering the stats given, and the kit is great for the price, for which nothing similar comes close.
No affiliation, just really pleased with it!

I always watch yours and other reviews of this type and i cannot understand what is this deal with complaints about hard plastic? Aren't they supposed to be hard, durable and easy to maintain and clean? I cannot understand how is it better to get softer prone to damage, scratches and faster to wear materials in a car. Who care if the upper dash or upper or lower parts of the door are hard, it is not a teddy bear to hug it, it is a car and the end of it.

You can say Suzuki along with Subaru, have rather spent the money on a much better 4wd system than the rest, both of them have abs controlled left/right torsen diff, front and rear. Most (all) european manufacturers have just a simple Haldex, and if you have too much wheelspin, the system shuts down due to high temp. same goes for Mazda, and Honda is also nothing to write home about in regards to having a good 4wd system.

Since Suzuki has dropped the diesel and the 1. 6 petrol as well, can you comment on your thoughts between the 1. 4T and the 1. 0T options? I am looking for a Suzuki Vitara 2019 model, 4x4, possibly even automatic, but manual is also possible option for me. I would appreciate your thoughts on which is best option of the two new engines. Love your reviews by the way, excellent work. Cheers!

This one hasn't got the ground clearance that the older model had, and it dosnt come standard with four wheel drive it's an optional extra and an expensive one at that, it's almost as if suzuki are trying to kill of the vitara, anyway after owning suzuki 4x4s for very many years we opted to purchase a different make of vehicle with proper four wheel drive as standard.

i havent seen any site says that vitara is quite noisy. mayby you're a little bit hyperbolic. you have to understand that in tha t range of prize that plastics you get, so simple! spaces just perfect for that kind of car in that class. i think the biggest than any car. engine? 1400 140 ps no comment for that prize. 1. 85 far from road, not bad. so strong and powerfull!
