I had one of these as a run around while my Pre face lift XF was in for a service. I wasn-t that impressed with the car, felt like I could have been sat in either a BMW or Audi, it didn-t have that Jaaaag feel to the interior. Also the 8 speed box felt like it would hunt for the correct gear at times, and when braking it seemed to change down too early, thus putting it in the higher rev range which would in turn effect the braking more, so making the slowing down more jerky, unlike the 6 speed box on my XF which feels a lot more smoother. Was I sad to hand it back? Noooooo! I couldn-t wait to get back in my 10 year old XF.

Which one/s between the Jaguar XF, Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Volvo S90 diesels is/are more quiet inside and which one/s feels/feel more solid (shutting the doors, etc? So which one/s has/have better build quality in general?

I have had two XFs both 3ltr diesels, the second was a Portfolio S, a rocket with total luxury and very economical. Loved them so much I moved up to an XJ. Love Jags, they have so much more presence on the road than the equivalent German offerings.

The front end, grille and headlights, are the best looking of any car anywhere. It now looks like the EX. The font end of the E Pace is let down by the F Type headlights which look a bit crap.

I noticed this guy always talks about AUDI, BMW and Mercedes in his sentences, not really differing, you may as well just review the German vs German models instead?

The boot interior needs to be covered also a full suitcase and hockey bag can fit that's cool just make the car big enough for 6ft plus people.

Audi? Jaguar made the XJ for over 40 years without changing the basic look. I think only Porsche and Morgan have kept a formula longer.

I do think it is vice versa the old S-type and X-type looked so characteristic so british, and now. it is just a car. Lost all its magic.
