Join me for a walk round of the the new Audi A8 and A8 L. In this video I will tell you all you need to know about the new car, show you its amazing technology, see how luxurious it is and let you know all the cool things it can do. One of these is the fact it can genuinely drive itself without you ever having to touch the steering wheel - thanks to the latest autonomous driving technology. Find out more about this and the other cool features in this video. Oh and yes - it does make a Mercedes S-Class seem a little bit old fashioned

Mat drools over all things Audi and all things iDrive for BMW. However having driven one (latest) here is my opinion.
It-s a lot lower than the S Class. Drive is not as comfortable neither are the seats, the seats are actually very firm like the suspension throughout all the various suspensions. Sound proofing is average for this class. As some people have correctly noted it is a finger printer magnet. All round vision is not all that. Engine seems okay and robust and the breaks are okay for a car this size. Most people are probably going to want this for the toys which look different but are the same with the odd additions that are not needed. The cost the Audi I drove was just over 100k. I would rate this car around 7. 5 / 10 and in the words of Mat I would consider it. It-s just not an S Class.

I never like audi as much as bmw or mercedes but I've done a 180 turn on my opinion. It is contemporary and makes the car more under the radar then it's german counterparts (vw is still too bland for me) but a car like this is irrefutable when it comes to creature comforts, and is more reliable in my mind than a mercedes or bmw. Get the diesel package and your saving money, riding in style, getting the girl and getting a promotion at work. This is a mature gentleman's car, refined, cunning and suitible for a true road going car. This is the one to have for the respectable family man.

The MMI swivel knob on my A3 is one of the many things that makes the A3 better than a Golf. Having to lean over and try many times to press the right part of the screen was very annoying. It doesn't bode well for future Audi models if they are going to pile into the touchscreen bandwagon with every other manufacturer.
I've always thought that touch screens are ok when your car doesn't have the room for the swivel knobs seen in Audi and BMW. You know, like an A1 or Clio. But an A8 has the room!

And what exactly is the amazing in that interior? Cheap dual screens, dust, fingerprint magnets and when the sun hits, you could barely see any info there! Instead of making one nice and big screen a bit inside the dash, and under mini dials made of aluminum or crystal to operate the AC. Cheap and crappy. I dont understand what is this fuzz about Audi making best interiors? Some 15, 20 years ago yes, but now even KIA has catch up and their interiors are spot on. And i am OCD person.

not to be racist, but it seems that virtually every negative comment i see hating on this car comes from someone of Middle Eastern descent. i guess they-re all satisfied with their Lamborghinis and Ferraris and would rather have massive amounts of unusable engine power over luxury and technology, instead of both -

Am I the only one wondering if the screens in the back will turn into flying projectiles in the event of a crash? Interior design is amazing but many of the cars in this class now have very similar tech features. How will Audi and the like improve the appearance of the screens to eliminate remnants of fingerprints?

Everyone has to make a determination for themselves. I owned an S for 6 months and sold it due to it being uncomfortable. Took a beating financially but at least my back was grateful when I bought the A8L. I've driven A8's since. Just my experience for what it's worth.

I really really don-t know why but this car reminds me of the Porsche Panamera, I don- know why (please don-t hate me, this car is indeed lovely, I-m just saying it reminds me of the Panamera, I-m not saying this car is bad or anything)
Have a nice day: D

cheap touch screens everywhere, blaxk shiny plastic perfect for scratches, dust, fingers prints. boring Passat look a like. S-class can still sleep good at night and the Lexus LS500h designers are laughing so loud in Japan that I can hear them in Europe.
