There are some misleading comments in this video, not a very accurate review. Since when do you compare Mitsubishi with Kia that hasn't proved itself yet, I want to see a Kia after the warranty period is finished or a Kia older than 15 years.
And Skoda. really. WV. buy cars from a company that lied and cheated it s customers? There is a legal case against WV worldwide. I USA WV lost.
The tailgate is probabely slower than the other cars but this is a better system, more reliable and much practical. Beside the hydraulic pistons it has a electic pivoting push rod that you can turn it on/off. Other cars have a corkscrew action system integrated in the lift pistons which can fail and you are stuck with a broken tailgate that you will no be able to open eg. Vauxhall Grandland
If the elecric tailgate is off, Imagine pushing a plastic screw in and out at a faster speed, how long will it last?
So if you don't want to get your finger dirty by pressing the dirty boot lid button, press the remote or the button iside the cabin and be fair as you were fast walking around the car, it takes 6 seconds.
Key slot. read the instructions. if the battery in the key is low or other radio interference you put the key in the slot, whithout the keyring and in the right position. The electronic gizmos around the key slot will be able to read the key ID better.
The storage lid between the seats. is not touching the seat or making a noise, I have the 2018 model, mabe they have addressed this issue.
I don't know how you broke that plastic cover on the seat. unless you did it on purpose, that place doesn't come handy at all to put pressure on it.

This is getting close to a practical gasoline electric. I still can't find out what the gasoline engine connection to the front wheels is. Seems like the engine should only run a generator, and the car run on electricity-only all the time (like a WWII diesel electric submarine) All the descriptions I read or see on YT suggest there is some additional drive mechanism, and means additional complexity and potential for breakage. That's the weakness of the current Chevy Volt--another car that was on the way to being practical until GM changed direction and now has all the hardware of an electric plus all the hardware of a gasoline drive. As to Mitsubishi, that company was on a couple lists of brands likely to disappear from the U. S. market. I can't afford an orphan car at this point.
My ideal gasoline electric: compact SUV with 100 miles on battery and a gasoline powered generator. Until it shows up, I just hope my 2000 Subaru keeps going. 220, 000 miles so far. Fingers crossed.

I own an Outlander PHEV (in Australia. You missed mentioning that with a tow bar added you can tow a large trailer. I have a one tonne braked trailer which it tows with ease. There is no other electric or PHEV private passenger vehicle in Australia - and perhaps in the world - that can tow. The chassis are too weak on other such vehicles. The back arm rest fits perfectly on my Outlander and really I think you were a combination of unlucky and harsh in your assessment of the vehicle. Oh, did I mention that even though I do a lot of distance driving and only charge at home (from my solar) I have only paid about A$900 for about 37, 000 km driven distance. Great car.

Rear seat thigh support is better than in most cars, but only if you stick your feet under the front seat, which lowers the height of your knees onto the padding. If you put your feet flat on the floor your knees rise and you have little thigh support 2: 13. Okay for children; not so much for adults, who will get tired legs on a long drive. Also notice the rear headrests are clearly designed for children only; they are not just a little low, they are way too low for an adult to avoid a neck snap in a crash; you would have to lift them about a foot to protect the head of this reviewer, and I doubt they actually extend that far 2: 17.

Maybe I should extol the virtue of using solar to charge my Outlander PHEV. My 5. 3 kWp solar PV installation south of Brisbane in Australia paid for itself after about 3. 5 years. Even though I charge my Outlander for my commuting I still always receive a credit from my electricity provider. I also sometimes charge at my office for the return trip. Essentially I use less than two litres of petrol per day for a round trip of about 65 km though city traffic. Why are you paying for running an exclusively petrol-powered car?

so you can charge this with the engine, and you should always drive at around 56 mph for the best fuel consumption, ie a motorway but not at 70 mph -drive at 60 mph max and your mpg will go up dramatically as for this car, how ugly does it look for 32k and things fall apart as well from new, well that is not a good sign, we have the technology yet they are still trying to work it all out to actually work as thy state it does, not sure this one is for me yet some drivers may like it

Test drove the 2017 and the best feature was the drive train, which is brilliant if you have off street parking and can plug it in, a lot of driving would be done on electric and you would hardly use fuel, The downside is that all it-s rivals ( Honda Toyota Mazda Ford ) are all much better cars so the only thing that makes this worthwhile it the brilliant drivetrain (if you can charge it up and use it mainly around town) in a crap car.

I almost was planning for buying in New York City. I even spoke with the dealer who says he is bringing 9 of those in January 2018 in his Queens, Astoria (45th st & Northern Blvd) Mitsubishi showroom.

Flimsy, poorly thought out aspects of interior design a real turn. Same problems with a Mitsubishi wagon /estate car I owned in the 90s. V6 engine very good but gearbox rather not have. All a bit random. A bit more thought and effort, they could have a very good car people would like to own and hang onto.

Its ridiculously over priced. They go on and on about the plug in capability, but that only gives you 20 miles. Lets get a sense of reason here. If the battery was twice the capacity and the premium charged for PHEV capability not so extortionate I would say it would make sense. But not at this price.
