One more time for the folks in the back -- and just because the BEV doesn't have its own Mat Watson video: it's totally fine (so far) that EVs cost more up-front than their petrol and diesel counterparts, because they cost next to NOTHING to run and maintain. My 2020 Hyundai Ioniq BEV costs just over 1 cent Canadian per km to charge at current kilowatt prices, and I visit my mechanic 1/3 as often. The main weak spot appears to be the 12-volt battery that powers the lights and the infotainment system. Add to that: Korean manufacturers make the most efficient models for winter use. ICE efficiency takes a roughly 20% hit in a true four-season climate too, but nobody seems to mention that.

So I've been looking into these for the past few days, to buy a used 2018 one like this, and I've been joking with my husband that if i get one, I'm going to put lettering by the car's name on the back so it reads -isn't it Ioniq? Don't you think? -
It's our wedding song too because it was outdoors and raining, and the next day we gave my parents a free ride to the airport when they'd already paid xD
So i was really glad to hear at the start of this video that I'm not the only person who thought of that song with this car xD

Just received an Ioniq as a courtesy car. Absoluteley aweful. Plasticy interior, rear view hindered by wing half-way down the window. Everything goes bingly-bingly-boing. Goddamn awful foot operated hand brake (in place of a clutch pedal. why? Good points - driver's seat is comfortable, drives OK, spare wheel(all be it a space saver. Pleasant enough body but nothing to write home about. Conclusion, I'll stick with my Toyota C-HR; A nicer place to be, by a long way.

Toyota, Honda, Hyundai or Kia for those who don't have plenty of money or respect their money. I just bought Corolla hybrid, get it on Monday. only problem they fold easily on crash. so for interior and quality and power you can buy a German car like Mercedes but for efficiency and long driving with minimum problems those cars are amazing, if I didn't get the Corolla I would buy a Hyundai which gives 8 years warranty like Kia which it's the same actually

Imaging this being a NORMAL WAGON! rather than an SUV. The boot would have been flatter, you would be able to fit more in and your HEAD would fit in as well as the roof wouldn't slope as much. But NOPE, due to Soccermoms thinking they need to off road, and midlife crisis dad thinking they need to hide they are -dads-. we get decisions like this: . Such a pity. Could have been such a killer electric car if it was a normal wagon: .

This English man is very rough with the cars or as they say -clumsy- I bet every time they return those cars to the dealer or corporate, they are scratched up, dirty and with an empty gas tank. Dough were are you buddy that guy really loves cars and takes the time to show most the details about the cars. Not only mentions cheap plastics, leg room, cargo space, and head space and ways to save money bla bla bla.

I bought it for the MPG but I'm not liking the interior. INTERIOR IS UNCOMFORTABLE. I'm 6 feet and if I keep my seat comfortable there's no space for anyone under maybe 4 feet 5 back there. The trunk opens manual, no front lever or fob key button to open it. It feels claustrophobic if you have 4 people.
The good. MPG maybe consider buying the Hyundai sonata limited for the same price and more luxury.

Got the Hyundai hybrid Premium SE model recently. (2018 -UK) Loving it. Easily the best car I have ever had. Early days but averaging 62 mpg although I did have it in the sport mode a few times which makes it feel a different car again. Have to get used to a silent car on start up. Looks stunning in the platinum silver finish and much better looking than the Prius. Dual clutch automatic super smooth.

Amazing car, great review! Living in the U. S. with 60% of our electricity produced by carbon emitting fuels, plus the respiration of plants while driving in the woods (compared to major upper atmosphere CO2 contributions from sites burning coal or natural gas in one location - to recharge electric cars, this thing is probably more environmentally friendly at 68 mpg compared to electric vehicles.

Hyundai. Fabulous for the first six months. Then it breaks. You try the 'peace of mind' 5 year warranty. Your car is handed back not repaired, and so it continues until the end of the warranty. Buy a Hyundai, end up with a broken car and a brand that puts profits above the safety of your family. You have been warned.
