Mercedes has done it again, in a bad way I meant. After they screw up the design on their new CLS, now they did it on their new GLE. OMFG, who the f--k is the mercedes benz head designer today? Merc is getting worse and worse by the day. Love the X5 exterior design, not a fan of the inside though. Still drive a merc today but might switch to a bimmer in the future, that is if mercedes design keep going downhill like this.

yeah spent a bomb on mine and it broke due to a timing chain defect well known 10 years ago plus thermostat failure, burst plastic coolant pipes, engine and gearbox mounts and broken sway bar links all below 70k km. felt betrayed as mercedes never bothered to fix with this defect. really pretty but dont think they are serious in making their cars last unlike the old mercedes i knew.

Very fluid design! The car looks smaller then actually is, which is great. Q7 and Tuareg looks like lifted A6(both very boring in reality, XC90 and X5 are very boxy and look huge. I think just Cayenne worth mention in a comparative in design. The 2 tablets are the only thing that i don't like, the rest of the interior being excelent.

Great design, excellent interior, WOW, and top of the line tech (excellent job Mercedes)
The problem, that it's too expensive for a car that will start breaking down in a few years (Mercedes has a very bad reliability record, thus bad resale value)

I can't believe people actually think BMW is the best looking. BMW grill works fine on saloon cars. But on SUVs, it's hideous. Audi looks the best. Volvo is a close second. BMW is third and the Mercedes is definitely last. Where is the Range Rover?

I live in Alabama, where they make the GLE, and I saw a -test car- sitting in our school parking lot. I was kinda shook when I saw it. It looks a lot better in person. It was the 43 AMG with the night package and looked so clean!

-matwatson love your reviews and banter! But have to admit I didn-t like the way you spoke low about this car. I-m not an suv fan at all but I appreciate cars in general. Check the facts and maybe edit this video and the title.

Had the previous gen and it was a massive disappointment. The air suspensions was buttery smooth, but it swerved a lot in corners. Had a vibration problem too. Long story short, upgraded to a q7 and never looked back.

Mercedes needs to focus more in their interior designs of GLE, G-wagon, GLC, GLE coupe, it looks outdated and 3rd class compared to Range Rover. S-class, 2019 E-class has a better interior compared to G-series

Since X5 made its debut in 1999 nothing beats BMW in this segment. Of course there is a proper Range Rover (not that BS sport version) and Mercedes G-Class, but SUV X5 will always remain the best.
