I went to configure an Audi Q2 online. After selecting the design pack (+2500) and the technology pack (+4300 euros) I discovered that I had to pay 686 euros extra for the virtual cockpit (shouldn't it be included in the technology pack, 186 euros for an armrest (yes in 2019 they charge you for the armrest, 682 euros for auto climate control, 350 euros for electric side mirrors (if you aren't very keen in closing the side mirrors manually, 1300 EUROS for 18 inch alloys because the 17- ones included in the design pack were looking like shit. :-, 286 for back support after already having selected sport and leather-leatherette seats for an additional 2000 euros. hahahahahaha seriously Audi? The price of the car at that point had reached 40k euros for the small diesel engine (115 HP) with manual gearbox. No driving assistance features selected yet.
They must be smoking something in the Audi headquarters.

When the Golf 8 hits the market this fall, and 'unveils' the new VW family cockpit, the T rock probably will get that update. Not great for those who bought one during Golf7. Marketeers simply could not stand it putting the 'new' vw cockpit into the T roc in 'advance'. Which is toooo ridiculous to begin with cuz what does a two toned Passat 2019 cockpit looks like? And why all the hard plastics from the Polo? It is not even used the same polo injection molds cuz the car is bigger, its a Golf But a Golf based stilted pseudo-suv without a GTE version means +15% more useless full consumption compared to Golf7 itself. A double chin rear bumper with double fake exhausts, looks awfull. I hope an aftermarket bumper Audi Q2 could save the T roc design. And hey. those Q2 rear lights design already was a recycle from Polo5. People, Profit, Planet. my -#$%. T roc could have been a nice looking car.

I have driven both. The VW feels slower off the mark and less dynamic when it comes handling, the handling on the Q2 40 TFSI is superb and feels like a true hot hatch. The interior on the Q2 feels and looks fancier, the multimedia system is non touch screen though, but I personally like that, since I don't like using touch while driving, just feels unsafe. The VW has the more sophisticated exterior from the front IMHO, but the Q2 with a black grill matches it in this respect. I ended up getting the Q2 and I absolutely love the drive, what did surprise me though is it consumes up to 50% more fuel than the claimed 6. 5L when driving in the suburbs, you're realistically looking at 9. 4L/100 if not higher, they really should force car manufacturers to perform more realistic fuel consumption tests.

F#ck me! - I-ve never bought a new car online before but on the basis of these reviews/adverts I ordered a T-roc for my wife via Car Wow, and was told I should expect delivery in within 12 weeks (or 14 at latest. However within days of paying my deposit I was told it would be MUCH later and possibly more expensive than originally quoted, PLUS if I wanted to cancel I could do so but would lose part or all of my deposit! We are now six months AFTER the promised delivery date and I have had to buy an interim car to plug the gap. Probably not Car Wow-s fault to be fair, but my advice would be to be slightly wary as Car Wow are only brokers and cannot control what happens at the dealer side. I certainly won-t buy via this method again.

The answer is a Golf. The only differences between a Golf and T-Roc is that the T-Roc rides higher and has a fractionally larger boot - but the Golf has a far better interior, rides/drives better than both of these mini SUVs and will hold its value better.
Why not an A3 then? Well because it's just a Golf with jewellery on, and while it's marginally better than the Golf. it doesn't warrant the significant price difference. If you want a mid size, grown up car with a hatch, buy a Golf. Or a Skoda Octavia if you want a bit more space.

I-ve just bought a T ROC. I love it, I bought it because I have osteoporosis and need a perch and swing in seat. I-m 73 so am getting a big old for a hot hatch, but have had my moments in Alfasuds. The T ROC allows me to put stuff easily in the boot, gives me all round good vision higher up than an Audi A3 or a Golf. I find it sporty enough for my needs. Agree the finish of the dash is hard plastic but. do I really care? Not a lot

I don-t get the hype with Audi interiors over Volkswagen. The t-roc for example has a built in screen and the materials on the Audi are very dark and samey. I thought about changing my Tiguan for a Q3 and I felt the interior in the Tiguan looked more premium at rline/sline level. Audi interiors are certainly more laddish, but I wouldn-t say they are any more lavish than the cleaner designs in a VW.

I have the Audi Q2 S Line S tronic in black. It-s the nicest car to drive I-ve ever driven. The Q2 looks way better in reality than the photos & videos. I-ve owned more expensive cars over the years (BMW, Merc, other Audis) bad the Q2 is my favourite yet. Love it. Better car than the T-Roc in terms of build quality and looks better side by side. The T-Roc is too narrow.

I thought the T-Roc is built on the same chassis as the new Q3 while the VW T-Cross is built on the same shortened chassis as the Q2? Looking at the 4 cars side by side it-s obvious that the Q3 more closely resembles the T-Roc. So if the Q3/T-Roc is built on the A3/Golf chassis, are the Q2/T-cross built on the new enlarged polo/a2 chassis?

The point of the downgraded interior seems to be lost on many. The T Roc is a barge created for the Mum and the school run, the brats are occupying the other seats. well kicking the Hell out of them, spilling their drinks, treading sweets into the fabric of the seat and carpets. It was never intended to be luxury only practicality!
