that Q7 is like a freight train, it keeps pulling forever as long as the pedal is down to the carpet, the biggest problem is the tune that it sports just so that ZF 6 speed has a chance at life becase, you know, at a whopping 1000nm it needed extra beefing, the engine tuned conservatively and veeeeery slow shifts just so it wouldnt snap it in half and granade spectacularly, that for a 12 yo 3 ton tank of an SUV is madness.
imagine if that thing could be fitted with a zf 8 speed or any more modern transmission that can hold just as much stock.

I just came here to write this comment, didn-t even watch the video because it-s outcome is lame and predictable. Shame on you carwow for doing this. If you really wanted to compare properly, you would-ve done two sets of races with the 2009 Q7 and an electric car from 2009 and a set with the 2020 SQ7 and an electric car from 2020. But alas, that alone already seems to be too difficult to understand.

Whatever happens, a combustion engine car will always make me smile. No matter what the engine is. It can be a 800ccm Daewoo Matiz or a 6000ccm Q7, it has sound, which makes a car an actual car. Electric cars have no future, i think we all know that deep inside. The Q7 is an eternal design, it looks like a car, not like the e-tron. #DieselPower! Diesel - and petrol of course - for the win!

These v12 were relatively untuned as stock
With a little work and nous I-ve had two that are 1350 Nm and 690HP. What holds them. back is the six speed gear box. Shame they didn-t have the 8 speed used in later Q7s and the A8 mounted with the 4. 2 V8.
Still with 1350nm I leave the sq7s for dead in a straight line
Love these albatrosses!

Electric cars are really fast. in the city, on the highway are rubbish one time over 80mph and u have to rechared it. However the diesel can go all day long at speeds over 125mph with a great fuel economy. There is no way german businessman drive on the autobahn with such speeds that are keeping the battery safe!

I remember sitting at the lights in Alexandria (sydney) 13 years ago (2009. There was a V12 tdi Q7 next to me and he took off, it didn-t seem to make any noise or spin the wheels or anything, it just sat down in the arse and he just disappeared into the distance. Absolutely smoked me.

Everyone is saying -Diesel for the win- ffs the thing gets 16-25 mpg and has a 26 gallon tank, so if diesel costs (in the u. s) around $3. 60 per gallon it would cost $94 to refill it from fumes to full. I'd take the e-tron since it would cost about $3. 10 at home to charge.

What happened at 9: 00 was so cringe that I got physically sick. Was this a test, promotion of today immoraly pushed electric cars business, or just two kids on an ego trip? The V12 Q7 is so superior to the new electric crap. Acceleration was never its main purpose.

A DIESEL V12 WITH THAT MUCH POWER? Audi did some mental engineering with that engine for sure. For a 2009 car with that much power, it did very well here, my goodness: O The transmission might be a little old, but for what it did, it put up a good fight: )

at the same time, a diesel V12 can be made with a 600hp and 1200nm chip st1 and it will go even faster while the consumption will remain almost the same.
And what can be done with the e-tron so that it goes faster than usual?
