Mercedes-AMG SL review: the sportiest SL ever!

This is the all-new Mercedes-AMG SL! Now the all-new SL has something very special compared to its predecessor - it-s now exclusively available as an AMG! With that in mind, you can imagine performance is pretty good. And trust us, it is! The range-topper is the SL 63, which comes packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet that can put down an astonishing 585hp & 800Nm of torque! What-s more, it-ll propel you to 60mph in just 3. 6 seconds! But wait, it gets better! Once you step inside, you-ll notice a whole load of similarities to the S-Class, with a huge infotainment screen dominating the dashboard. You-ll also find high-quality materials throughout the cabin, while upfront there-s a pair of comfortable sports seats. However, as you can imagine, all that quality and performance doesn-t come cheap, with the AMG SL having a starting price of -125, 000! So is it worth it?

All of this digital instrumentation in cars today will genuinely look comical in 10-20+ years. Just look at how digital gauges look from cars from the 80s. I think this trend is the wrong way to go specially for an iconic car like this. On cheap commuter cars, who cares if they are all digital. They will find their way to a junk yard down the line. This, not quite. There should be a mix of some high quality analog and digital instrumentation like the gauge cluster, HVAC, etc. Something like the Lexus LFA gauge cluster for example. Timeless.

6: 40 The convertible touchscreen button thing. You literally made me never want to consider this car ever. Nice.
I can't even believe you're being serious right now. I will NEVER PAY to do this. Ever. I can't believe a core function. The roof. Is locked behind an idiotic touchscreen interface. I'm mind boggled. I was growing to like it, but no. I can't believe someone thought this was accept. I can't believe you're being real.

What on earth is this (mostly EU) obsession with rev limiters when stationary?
Honestly, I'd love to know what kind of lunatic thinks this kind of -feature- is going to save the planet or help in any way. On a day to day basis how many people sit there revving for no good reason?
Other than a few man-children like Matt (& me) this isn't needed by 99% of drivers.

Glad you settled the cabin noise level dilemma. I believe there is another button to raise the top so that you don't have to slide and hold. Would the AMG sports seat work for a 30 mile journey? Weird that the M177 engine in this is restricted to 585bhp. Dealerships pass it on as a replacement to the S-class coupe/cabrio but those are big gaps to fill.

If you are interested in that the name above can help you to archive that. i was able to monitor my partiner activities remotely from any part of the world - through his help, he's a professional hacker.

I got my new car from trading and investment in crypto currency-s. Each day when I see my account increase when I login, I-m so happy and I have to thank my mentor about this knowledge. I can now earn $4800 daily because I trade with the good company. I believe you will love to have such knowledge too my dear.

Looks good and all but so much criticism makes me wonder what was Mercedes thinking. Like that roof operating system. Only through the screen. What if the screen does not work and your stuck with an open roof on a rainy day. Also that soft limiter is rubbish. Its like everything is tamed down now.

that control panel is an albatross. It's just so clunky in the way it sits in the car, as if someone designed the interior and when they were done they just leaned their iPad up against the dash. It's hard to believe actually. It's such a bad design. and yet, I'm the first person to mention it.

Here is the problem, this is a bad version of the AMG GT black series. They should have at least kept similar design on the hood. And lets not forget this is a Mercedes, it will spend more time in the repair shop/garage than at your house.
