That E36 and E46 look clean and still look great to this day. And also the engines in all of them are spectacular, especially that clean 3. 2-L inline 6 in the E46 M3, and it literally looks like new from 17 years ago when it came out. I don't think we need to know how amazing BMW straight 6 engines are. The E46 did really well for how old it is-- Also gotta give props to the E36 M3 as well. That M2 Competition is lethal, but both cars despite their age put up a good fight. BMW inline 6 engines are some of the best sounding-

This is what I miss about cars. all manuals and where the most important thing was the driver mod. These days all you gotta do is set launch control and mash the gas pedal. I've always said that the biggest thrill in driving is the inconsistency in the sense that every time you raced the outcome has the potential of changing because the car relies on you the driver. today the driver relies on the car to get it right all the time.

E46 just forever and ever. Drove onr the other day and it's mesmerizing. Was so in doubt between buying the e46 m3 or a more modern 440i and went with the 440i. Sure, it's quicker and has more torque but it's not the same fun. But I just drive too many regular miles for a 20yo m3: /

You guys are useless, you dont need to add all your stuff ups to make the video longer. Just show people what they want to see, a clean race with no issues. If you think the stuff ups are so exciting then dedicate a separate video to them.

Fun fact which the avid bmw peeps would know, when the e46 m3 was launched it had the fastest reacting electronic throttle bodies ever and still close today.
Should have used the 3. 2L e36 there in place of the 3. 0L

let's just appreciate the e46 and the e36 holding up so well in comparison to the M2.
its mindblowing that the technology of the e46 dates back to 2001 which is a 17 year gap to the 2018 M2 competition.

if you knew how to shift a bmw e46 m3 smg you would definitely keep up with the m2 as for a first time on the m3 not bad and they are much much prettier then all the rest by a mile.

We had an E46 in the family beautiful car really regret selling it. Now if you look for one they are all abused not worth buying now a days well maybe only in North America?

Making me feel nostalgic about my E46, it had a ac shnitzer exhaust and it was amazing had to get rid of it because the SMG 2 gearbox was on its way out --
