The most hi-tech car I've ever driven!

Meet the most luxurious, hi-tech cars BMW has ever released - the new BMW 7 Series & BMW i7! Mat s flown over to America to get his hands on these two luxurious limos to give them a full-blown, proper in-depth review! Let s start with a look at the design. One thing s for sure, from the back and the side, there s no hiding that this is clearly a 7 Series. Sure there have been a few design upgrades over the previous generation, but the side and rear profile are quite clearly in the traditional 7 Series mold. But of course, it s up top where things get interesting, with an absolutely massive double kidney grille that dominates the front end. Combine this with the split headlight design on either side, and you've got yourself one car that will definitely turn heads! Once you step inside, you are treated to a cabin absolutely full of high-quality materials, including leather & carbon on the dash, soft-touch felt on the roof, and super comfortable cashmere seats. You ll also find the same swooping infotainment screen as in the new iX. But of course, the main feature of this interior is the huge 31-inch 8K cinema screen in the back! This thing is absolutely insane, and when you combine it with the ability to fully recline the seats in the back, there s no denying that this is pretty much the best bit of technology we ve got our hands on in any car EVER! When it comes to performance, the range-topping BMW i7 60 comes with two electric motors to deliver 544hp and 745Nm of torque. It comes with a 102kWh battery pack that s good for a claimed range of 388 miles. As for the BMW 7 Series, it comes with a 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers an almost identical 544hp and 750Nm. As for the price, the 7 Series starts at 102, 000, while the i7 starts at 108, 000. But are they both worth it? You ll need to stick with Mat to see for yourself!

The screens look awful. I wish car makers would stop doing this. It s going to age so badly. Imagine how poor they will look within 5 years. Rear screen is cool but a bit slow and unresponsive. Reclining seats will get very tiresome with the age it takes them to recline. The nose is ugly, the rear is dull but the worst problem with this car, it s electric. Petrol engine is decent however whose going to buy this over a Rolls or Bentley or S Class? You d be better off with the M5 as a driver and one of the above as a passenger

All this tech yet when the big screen comes into play zero visibility out of the rear window. WHY WHY WHY does everyone forget to use switchable camera on the rear view mirror. it s ridiculous plus. WHY isn t there a TV screen popping up in the front passenger seat? PLUS how long are you in a car to use all this tech? Most of it is utter nonsense that s all you need is a great sound system, plug in all phones for apple car play etc and rear entertainment it s the quality and design on the interiors are the most important

I can't explain how much I hate manufacturers hiding every single option in the infotainment system instead of just having buttons for the most used things. It's just as distracting if not more distracting to fiddle with the infotainment system than it is to use your phone while driving.

It is is amazing how much BMW is targeting the Asian market with their designs. In the past you had Asian manufacturers using western design themes and we have run full circle. I thought the Chris Bangle designs were confronting But this is next level with lines going in all directions

Anyone else skip the ev parts of the videos wish synthetic fuels or some alternative would take off. Evs have ruined what a car is for a lot of people. Shame the ICE is dead now and all that's left are these soulless robots. They are just transport now not a car.

Unlike most people here I won t beat around the bush concerning this car s appearance which is completely crap. BMW is pissing on us and telling us it s lemonade we should spend hundreds of thousands on. I m a product designer and I m offended by this abomination.

I actually just realised that in the matte black colour way, I really like the look of this. It's actually not as ugly as people make out. I can't help but think that if they got rid of the upper light bars on the front, it would look absolutely gorgeous.

BMW is so desperate in trying to find a look that will stick. The new 7 series is an amalgamation of so many car designs it's impossible to even figure out how many different designs they copied. Just sad to see how BMW continues to reach new lows.

The only reason I would keep this car is by having crash and deform the entire front end. Which I believe would be an appearance upgrade. And then just drive it around all crashed. But I can't afford one so it's never going to happen.

BMW have gone mental. They've lost it. That is not a car, they have forgot what it is to make a car. MAKE IT DRIVER FRIENDLY. It is a tool for people, not supposed to be a complicated mess of technology instead of usability ffs

Best review yet. BMW is just the dogs bollocks, but i would go for the I 60. You just cant beat a proper engine and like you i love the 2 tone colour scheme. All in all a fantastic car, just wish i had the cash to buy one

The most ugly bmw ever, even more ugly than the e65 first model. (New 2 series ugly too )
In a car i want to enjoy driving it and i don't need colorful lights and big touch screen computers and all that kind of BS.

I think with the fake sounds for the V8 it s not that noticeable but it just makes it a sound like an older exhaust without the 15 filters and silencers so I think if I was driving it hard I d definitely have it on
