The main reason why Matt have his 0-60 far off from the claimed one because All Vipers have 1st gear limited at 61-63mph and you dont need to change them once it reach Rev limit, this was confirmed on other Motorist journal that Viper was designed like that to make 1st gear very long to ensure that they can reach 0-60 without need to change the gear.
If you tried to change gear before 60 mph, you will have another delay about 0. 5-0. 7 secs depend of your reflex, this is same like how hypercars (Koenigsegg, Buggati, Hennessey) built like that because they have 1000+hp power which means they have 1st gear really long so can reach 0-60 target as close as possible.

The gen 2 has always been the one for me personally. I think it's by far the most beautiful viper and it looks absolutely gorgeous to this day! For a big, brutish V10 American monster, it's very sleek and elegant. I have very fond memories of watching my big brother, and eventually myself, destroy the oposition in it on the likes of Gran Turismo and Juiced. That stunning Famous Team Oreca colour scheme is forever burned into my memory from Gran Turismo.

I had a Gen 2 Viper, definitely got all the looks but lives up to its reputation! Almost lost it once with my wife on a backroad and after that never felt comfortable pushing it. Do want to own a Gen 5 though in the collection one say soon. Overall, very interesting seeing the 0 to 60 times. One of my favorite Car Wow videos!

Matt leave the 1st gen in firs geart all the way to 60mph. Will be way better time. That comments was after watching 1st gen only. After watching the whole video I have to say. Matt stick with automatic I can't believed you keep shifting right before 60mph loosing like a second. Nice video.

Dodge has no qualms about measuring 0-60 with rollout. they did so with the new Demon 170, when they reported a 1. 66sec 0-60. on a prepped surface, with slicks. and ethanol. Absolutely love the Viper though. I think the last gen ACR is the best car Dodge has ever produced.

Even though the vipers don't sound quite like the high revving V10's from Europe, I still think it has a nice sound. More of a slow revving muscular growl than the shrieking howl you get from an M5, Gallardo, or LFA/CGT

Going sub 5s 60 with a manual is really difficult. There is so much that needs to be absolutely perfect to reach it. Going sub 4s is even madder. There is a reason why we have al those fancy transmissions today.

The newer gens are far more capable, but you just can't beat the pure raw simplicity of the early ones. And those early coupe versions are by far the best looking with the lovely curves all over.

The gen 3 doesn't look good at all. They got rid of the slimmer waist and awesome contours and it's just this boxy thing. I'm glad they went back with the next one.
Gen 2 looks the best by far

Would love to see some launching with an adjustable traction control system where you can adjust the level of slip and see how much it helps with launching.
Great video love the vipers

Ayo the 4, 83 Second thing is insane?
What are the odds that every generation did the same time AND the 4th generation owner with his burnout did the exact same time too!

03-05 is by far the ugliest with convertible only options. When they brought the coupe back for 06, it looked amazing. I still want an 06. 03-05 look like Sebrings on steroids.

The Viper sucks! All generations. The best american supercar will always be the 05-06 Ford GT. Its not the fastest and the handling is kinda weird but that sound though

Mat just accelerate through that gear instead of shifting up when you're at 55mph. You're adding a half second on your times when you only have a few mph left to go

I feel like the 1st gen is probably my favourite viper, its the most iconic dodge viper to be created. I'd love to see and get inside one of these things.

I was driving to Chicago and was overtaken by an early Viper just like that red 92'. With the 3-spokes (or blades) and everything. What a beauty!

I like that third gen model. A true legendary car, never knew Lamborghini worked on the engine for them. Will never see anything like it again.

I would choose en 4. it has a lot of power and character and it looks still like Viper. Vth gen doesn't look already like the real Viper for me
