Lambo Huracan v Audi R8: DRAG RACE

Lambo Huracan v Audi R8: DRAG RACE

We’ve got Mat in his Audi R8 Spyder V10, and it’s facing off against a Lamborghini Huracan Evo! These cars are almost identical under the skin, but let’s see how they compare anyway. Starting with the Audi, it’s powered by a 5. 2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can put down 620hp and 580Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at 1, 695kg. As new, this car would set you back around 167, 000. Then we have the Lambo. It’s powered by the same 5. 2-litre V10 engine, but the power output has increased slightly, climbing to 640hp and 600Nm. It comes equipped with the same 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the claimed dry weight is 1, 422kg (so you can add around an extra 100kg for the proper weight. It’s a bit pricier than the Lambo, costing around 198, 000. So will the more powerful Lambo snatch it Or will the Audi’s launch propel it to victory There’s only one way to find out LET’S RACE!

I'm a big Audi fan (currently own a modded B7 RS4, plus an S3. I've always loved the R8 (as well as the lambo, but in recent years Audi have gone soft with their quiet exhausts and soft limitiers and recently the R8 doesnt launch as hard, which is an incredible shame for the last of its kind. Better off sticking with older, more human Audis

Why so grumpy Matt.
You're making so much money from doing something and living the life anyone watching this would give a limb for.
Learn to be appreciative of your good fortune and not be so caught up with a free car.

The problem was 6: 26 James May in the. They don't call him Captain slow for nothing. Whatever you were doing He was interfering with the software of car to make it more pleasant, elegant and unbothered by speed.
reply

I would take the R8, but only the Coupe version. Paradoxically it's the more unique one of the two. It's a huge shame Audi is abandoning one of it's most iconic and best models. in the name of electric BS.
reply

I'm not a fan of the design of this Audi R8, it's NOT a pretty car.
The car looks disproportionate, and it looks strange when the driver sits so far forward. It will never become a design gem.

The reason why your shitty Audi keeps bogging down is because it is autoshifting to 2nd gear because you're hitting the rev limiter as your wheels spin and the speedo reads higher than the actual speed.

Sell ur Audi Matt, buy a nice BMW with the money so it’s not money spend on useless stuff.
I don’t even know why you got an Audi in the first place, you know how they are.

reply

Only difference I can see is when you’re in the race, you hold the launch control longer, and when you test it afterwords you immediately let go of the brake as soon as the refs climb.
reply

Why I am commenting on something non-automotive, I’m not certain, however: Matt, sitting in the R8 you look like Scotty of the Starship Enterprise. You need a little more warp speed.
reply

Matt is not very professional lol, he’s moody and unenthusiastic from the startnot a very entertaining video. the launch failures could have been funny if he wasn’t so miserable
reply

I feel so sorry for Audi. What they were and what they have become. Lambo not putting soft limiters and maintaining the sound factor is the Chad move the industry needs
reply

Matt is just sad that the seats are too big for him, made for Americans.
Eat something so you can fit into your clothes (and European Car seats) properly Matthew

I noticed that the launch on the R8 will work when he does it in shorter time like 1 sec instead of 3. So He should hit the gas somewhere 1 second before go. Carwow

I want Audi to win. Maybe it's some kind of religious issue.
I usually root for less-posh brand to win anyway, but Audi is somehow special.

reply

The difference between the R8 and the Huracan is 20hp and I am pretty sure that comes from the freeer flowing exhaust of the lambo
reply

must be a slow day at carwow or slowly running out of cars to line up This hast to be the least exciting line up ever. seriously.
reply

but why did Matt put second gear so early when he was competing and instead when he wasn't racing he put it later I don’t understand
reply

On the first rolling race Lambo should win but it did up shift and and wierd the driver didn't press the pedal at 100% don't know why
reply

I have always loved the R8 (and the Lambo, (I currently own an RS4 and an S3) but Audi seem to have gone increbily soft in
reply

Should've done the drag race at the end. Maybe it would work with the car being nice and warm. (Audi ownership experience)
