How to change rear Differential Fluid #01 (detailed version) Learn how to change your rear differential fluid. In this process I unbolt the differential cover (pumpkin cover) because there is no drain plug. Then I make my own gasket with RTV because I couldnt get a gasket for this differential. Only basic tools are needed and anyone could do this job. Remember to thumbs up the video if you found it helpful and leave a question/comment below. This is fast and easy maintenance to do to keep your car or truck in tip-top shape

Hey Chris, I love all your videos. All I could do before watching them was change the oil. I bought a 2001 Mustang GT a few years ago and have replaced the entire suspension system, all brake components, and many other things. Thanks so much! Quick question- my GT has 178, 000 miles and I'm not sure if the rear diff fluid has ever been changed. If it was your car, would you change the fluid, or could it screw things up since it possibly has never been done? Thanks man!

Called Chevy for info on mine. They said 75-90 synthetic fluid. I asked about the limited slip additive and they said its up too me but I doesnt call for it. Would slip additive cause issues for me?

Excellent vid bud! You give a lot of guys confidence to do maintenance themselves to not only save money but get gratification from doing it ourselves knowing the job was done properly

How do you clean your hand pump when using it for different fluids? Like if you want to use it for brake fluid how do you ensure there is no water left in there?

Hmmm. 2 of my bolts wont go in all the way. Switched bolts and still no luck. The same two hole only allow the bolts to only go about 1/2 way. Not sure how to fix it.

I have watched you for awhile now, I think you do a good job of explaining your procedures, you don't over complicate things.
