Learn how to replace the ENTIRE front suspension of your car in this two episode series. Here I will show you how to install a brand new wheel bearing, ball joints, control arms, tie rod, strut, and axle. The ball joint and wheel bearing has to be pressed into the knuckle and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to make that easy. I show how to properly install a tie rod (safely) and get an accurate measurement so you can get the car aligned. I also show you how to properly torque down bolts with bushings so you don't tear them. The rest of the suspension parts are pretty simple to install and then we go for a ride to see how much better the car handles! First EPISODE

It looks like you could have cut out a sheet metal dust shield using the old one to stencil screw holes. Maybe heat the sheet metal to forge the sway back on it or just bend it away from moving parts. But we appreciate how you intentionally simplify so much. It is great. Absolute best. How much were the parts?

The first time I watched this video I knew a good deal about cars but hadn't ever done anything more than an oil change or a brake job. Now, years later I am an actual mechanic (not kidding) and do these things several times in a week, you can learn alot watching Chris's videos

I am pumped now that the suspension is all good and the surprise at the end of the video! We are gonna have some fun with this car!
PS I will have a car meetup in Toronto Canada this Tuesday. Check my stories on YouTube, Instagram or Facebook page for more info!

I was waiting to hear you tell us how much it cost you in parts. That would have been a good piece of information to give a guy a good Idea of how much we would be looking at to budget for the same job on our vehicles.

Chris. we would love to see more of the del sol, automotive youtubers are one of the few things that would benefit, with little to no problems. that said I can't wait for the next one!

10: 35 Honestly I see this so often that something needs torquing but videos just glass over that as its not easily possible with a torque wrench. DO you just do it by feel?

Chrisfix I literally have an assignment due in a few hours, and here I am watching this video. I dont even have a car to repair lol.

reply

Where would you suggest looking for a 1986 toyota mr2 front suspension. (Asking chrisfix hopefully, though, anyone who knows anything would be awesome)
