There's a new Supra coming, and it's got big shoes to fill. The Toyota Supra is a legendary car for many reasons- not the least of which is its 2JZ inline six engine. Its a bulletproof cast iron behemoth that can reportedly make 800hp if properly set up and tuned. Find out why the 2JZ is so sought after, and how its capable of getting such monstrous power numbers Fall in love with the 2JZ GTE Special

I used to work at a lumberyard, and one of the Toyota forklifts had a 5ish liter normally aspirated diesel engine. It looked so much like a 2J, but I couldn't find any label on it. Does anybody know about Toyota diesel engines? I have seen diesel to gasoline conversions before (the Oldsmobile diesel engine was a shite diesel but can take insane boost when modified for gasoline use, and somewhere on the internet is a Duramax converted to be a twin-turbo E85 engine) and I was thinking a five-liter 2J would be the tits.

There is already people currently building 1000 hrsprs and trqsprs out of the 2020 Supra bimmer engine I cant find the vin# code for the new engine and who knows what it will be called in the future but well known 2jz builders like Papadakis Racing are saying the block and heads are stout like a 2jz and it will be as good or possibly even better

50 percent of the video was filler. The other 50 was already known facts about the engine, delivered at a talking speed of someone with brain damage, in a tone that made it seem as if he thought his audience had brain damage. Btw, the pill squirters were for piston cooling. Moron

Yup that's how Toyota gets it done 2jz gte its like my grandfather use to tell me they dont make things like they did in his days todays engineered figured that the way to make money is by making engine components and electronics to breakdown at some point and be replaced

I'm still trying to get established in my current career field, but I hope by the time I'm financially able to start putting aside money for a Supra (my dream car) I'll still be able to find one with the stock internals that isn't a deathtrap waiting to happen.

I thought the Japanese manufactures agreed not to ADVERTISE the actual horsepower, they all agreed to say no more than 280 HP so people wouldnt only buy a car because it had the most horsepower? Am I wrong here?

About 15 years ago, I was the proud owner of a 6-speed black Toyota Supra MKIV eu-spec and my god. I miss that car Tuned it to about 500 HP before I was dumb enough to sell it.
