The 5. 4 wasnt even close to being pushed to its limit lol. They just made it a 5. 8 so it could be a 351 and everyone could get a hard on for it so they could charge 65 grand for it. The previous 5. 4 was actually mildly tuned and you can gain 100-150 whp on them from simple bolt on parts depending what year you have between 07-12 (07-09 were very detuned factory and could gain 80 whp+ from just an intake and tune, not even changing the pulley. Full bolt ons on that car and you can get around 600 whp. If you throw a later model trinity blower on it you have comparable power to a bolt on 13-14 for half the price. The 13-14 are bad ass cars and if you wanna leave it stock or mild bolt ons is the best mostly because of the better blower but if youre gonna do more work to it and plan a blower swap anyways the 07-12 makes more sense because theyre just as good for alot less money thats just my. 02

NOOOOOO the car came with the 428 but all the parts were aluminum so it had the tenancy to blow up so when it failed ford couldn't put a 428 they put a 427 so in it. i read in the registry that an early vin was taken in for blow out on drag strip in 1968. Engine damaged beyond repair rods blowout valved crumpled. Installed 427 success. ''

I would love to see the Shelby Series 1 featured in the Everything You Need to Know Up to Speed series or Bumper to Bumper. Beautiful muscle car I personally hated to see go.

So the GT500 was a beast and now is Barbie? The GT500 2020 wont get over 180 MPH and the Camaro ZL1 Gets over 200 MPH that makes me feel bad as a Mustang Fan
