I love the sound of Silence, I am and efficiency buff and electric cars are 2x efficient in terms of energy. That being said, if electric car came out with replicated sounds of your favorite engine would it move you from never electric car to yeah i could drive that? I had a discussion with my Dad who loves classic cars and he toid me if an electric car could make the sound of classic and tie it with the car's acceleration then he would be all for EVs.

You got the rotary stuff wrong, it takes the eccentric shaft 3 revolutions to get one full revolution out of the rotor. So you get one firing per revolution times how ever many rotors you have.

5: 28Most European V8 engines use a flat plane crankshaft. Most are European V8 engines are cross-plane; Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, etc. Ferrari and McLaren do use flat plane cranks though.

Even though I'm American, I hate the sound of the classic American V8s. The best sounding engines are inline 6s. They sound like they are purring until Chewbacca steps in.
