Dude I used to race late models at a short track and always thought iRacing was awesome. I still think it's awesome. I've played a ton of online games, play an insane unhealthy amounts of Overwatch and this needs to be said. iRacers are probably the most toxic/immature community I have ever encountered, and I'm a very clean/respectful iRacer. It's what I see how they talk to others in my races and I don't race particularly low either but not extremely high also. Also what gets me is most of these guys you can tell by their voices are very much so matured experienced humans (30-40+. I've experienced toxicity with Overwatch and if anyone knows half a thing about Overwatch it's that while the game is amazing, the community is one of the most toxic communities in gaming. iRacing takes the cake though in my experience, and that's saying something because I have a lot of experience to know toxic communities. So I know that iRacing has some of the legit most toxic players I've ever encountered, but what I don't know or understand is why.

Daniel Abt announced what he did in a live stream before the race. He wasn't planning on keeping it a secret.
The race wasn't about money and for him (and other) it was more for entertaining and having a good time.
He thought it was a fun idea to give the sim racer a chance to drive with all the other drivers.
I personally think that Audi overreacted to that incident.

While these sim-races had their share of problems I can say as someone who didn't care about Indy racing in general I now have a genuine interest in the sport. I think seeing these drivers as people instead of just faceless pilots of these fantastic machines goes a long way to generate interest in the sport in general.

I really like donut house but this ad is REALLY IRRESPONSIBLE no toothbrush is magical and makes dentists not necessary, it may be a good brush but its dangerous to tell your fans that they dont need dentists because of it. Brushes and dentists do completly different things

When consequences are removed, peoples true colors shine through. It's not any one community, just people in general are toxic.
Takes a real P sy to crash the driver that's obviously driving better / faster.
Those kind of people shouldn't be racing professionally.

These pompous race car drivers that wreck intentionally have entitlement issues cause their positions in normal racing were solidified except when you make dumb racist remarks. Feel bad for McLaren Driver kid he was robbed and could've did wonders for him if he won.

U cant expect people who r gud at actual racing 2 b gud at sim and/ vice versa.
So people expecting serious racing were wrong from the beginning.
The first race with pro gamers and racers was a gud thing.
But getting sponsors involved was wrong.

I would definately watch a streamed iRacing event.
But what i would not watch is any Nascar race being streamed. Not even the least interested in a shit series like Nascar. Would even watch an Formula E instead, however boring that is.
