They aren't unreliable, it's just the whole Alfa stigma they got many, many years ago. They put that same engine in numerous other, more daily-driveable Alfas and it was fine. I drive a 20 year old Alfa 156 (which was gifted to me and I doubt I ever would've went for it if I was buying a car myself) and it shocked me how good and reliable that car turned out to be. I don't even wanna go for anything newer as it does everything I ask from it, including long road trips. I was never an Alfa fanboy, but my experience has been so pleasant I do believe my next is also going to be an Alfa.

I disagree on the manual thing. I own a 2016 4c and If this car had a manual it would need to dump the manual steering. you have to have both hands on the wheel at all times, especially in stock form. I have some race blocks on mine that add caster and make it drive straighter but even that requires both hands on the wheel almost all the time. A manual transmission would make the car more dangerous to drive or force them to redo the suspension geometry or give it assisted steering and would actually diminish the character of this cars driving experience.

Makes sense a vehicle like this would have some type of all weather mode, though I wonder just how comprehensive such a mode is beyond simply changing shift points and the like. In the Giulia and Stelvio, A means Adaptive. More so an eco mode. Likely because they're already AWD, aside from the Giulia Quadrafukinfastio.
There's no tangible Park to shift into in the 4C. I've always thought that was nifty. Maybe that's where Maserati got the idea for the new MC20.

You keep harping on that head unit. You are missing the beauty of that unit. Unlike radios in most other modern cars, you can easily replace this radio with a more modern radio with all the tech you want for 500. So for less than what some companies charge for the addition of apple carplay or android auto, you can get a modern head unit with a ton features that you can configure to your liking, not just what the car company wanted to sell you.

Also, it sounds EXACTLY like a 4-cylinder, just a well-tuned, good-sounding 4-cylinder.

I used to sell these a little while back! Couple fun facts while in manual mode hold up the DNA selector to enter race mode. These were built at the Maserati plant in Modena Italy hence the Maserati emergency trunk release. To this day the 4C is amazing and fun and sorta cheap to maintain to be honest.

You forgot to mention a few things.
1. It doesn't have a Park gear.
2. It doesn't have power steering.
3. It doesn't have power braking.
4. Ferrari helped Alfa Romeo engineer the engine.
I test drove one years ago. It is one of the best car driving experiences I've ever had.

Comparing this to a Ferrari is ridiculous. It's like comparing a Polo GTI to an Audi R8. Yeah it's made by the same parent company, the cap on your coolant tank might be the same and it's much smaller and lighter. You figured all that by yourself? How observant.

Doug's only weak point is judging styling. seriously doug is this less attractive than an s2000? Exactly the same score as the GR yaris? Come on. it is waay more attractive and eye catching than any car on the comparison including the spiker and the Evora
