I saw this when it was first published but wasn't thinking at the time so now after watching it again I noticed you didn't explain how they got away with the headlights not attached to a solid piece of bodywork. And how about the third brake light, huh? And is the wrench for the spinons an actual torque wrench? I had an MGB with spinons that required a huge spanner but you had to guess at how much torque you were applying though if you didn't get it tight enough and the nut fell off the wheel wasn't coming off without it since the tiniest bit of rust on the superfine splines locked the wheel to the axel. The tool kit did include an over-sized rubber mallet that was used to knock the nut off then pound the bejeezus out of the inside of the wheel which would then slide right off after a couple of days. Thanks for sharing.

You know, this may be the first sports car I've ever seen where cost cutting doesn't come into play. Instead of plastic mirrors, splitters, gas cap, they all are made of durable, high quality aluminum just because it's nicer. I've seen Lamborghinis and other exotic and American sports cars cheap out on little stuff like that, but the Dutch did a very nice job making this car.

Honestly, I do not know anything even close to the price tag of Spyker that I would take over C8. Amazing build quality, super reliable engine, and transmission that can be serviced anywhere for a reasonable price with the rarest modern car with the unbelievably cool interior The only car that may be better as a design exercise is the Pagani, for the far higher price: )

The BEST review I've seen Of all the exotics you have reviewed, Doug, THIS is the one I would buy if I had the unlimited to do so But your extensive review transported me into your being especially during the drive portion, and I felt the excitement that you had Thanks again for the incredible review I'll start a special lust fund for this vehicle soon

I think dug missed the point of this car. Its a timeless steam punk vintage meets modern engineering seamlessly and perfectly, its for someone who appreciates the protocols of old time aviation and reliability and also, that exhaust note is perfection. Its a growl. The center of gravity was also amazing.

I have had the pleasure of driving a couple of Spykers. They are very fun to drive. You forgot to mention that there is no stereo system in the car. Spyker wants you to hear nothing but the wind and the car exhaust system.

A lot of the sports cars he reviews just seem like they would be a pain in the ass after the initial honeymoon phase of having them before all their annoying little design choices make you wish you had a minivan instead.

I remember when it came out in 2000 and I was 11. Before this, my favourite car was the Lambo Diablo. And then the Spyker became my favourite car as I felt that I was acquiring more mature tastes. Never forgot that.

Test drive unlimited on the Xbox 360 Introduced me to this car over 10 years ago and I remember being so fascinated with its design, the interior, amount of detail on everything and not to mention that shifter Lol
