WATCH MY 488 VIDEO: Certain purists suggest the new Ferrari California T isn't a real Ferrari. Here's why they're completely wrong. Christo Abrie: just for the people who complained that the California wasn't a real Ferrari, Ferrari has a long history of producing gorgeous GT cars (the Daytona and 250 GT immediately comes to mind, and while the Cali wasn't the best looking Ferrari, it wasn't the ugliest either (that title goes to the Mondial. The Cali is in essence a GT car, cuz it's got 4 seats and a very big boot.

One thing thats very real about this car is the depreciation. First 2 years it loses about 75% of its value. With that being said I like the car in and of it self but if you are looking for an exotic and you have half a mill to spend, there are plenty of other more reasonable options, other Ferraris included.

A Ferrari that only gets to 186 mph which is 299 km/h is indeed a lesser Ferrari, I mean a Ferrari that can't even reach 300km/h? That's not even worthy of being a Ferrari. Any super sedan like a BMW M5 is faster than that and probably much cheaper as well.

Wow, 196 miles per hour? That's almost as fast as a new Camaro; ). By the way, people should limit their usage of air quotes to once - not once per video, but once per lifetime. Thanks for the entertaining (and, no doubt, profitable) videos.

The T is an improvement from the base California when it was introduced. It was designed for the masses who wanted a shiny horse on their new car without the pedigree of a Ferrari. Enzo is rolling in his grave right now.

Why does it look like this car has the same owner as the Ferrari 488 Spyder that Doug reviewed before it? Even the ferrari logo on the wheels of both the cars were customised red in colour.

honestly this is the type of ferrari id want to own (if i could ever afford one)classy and more simple than its brethren. also im from california so it speaks to me a little

Why do Ferraris not sound like any other v8. They sound like a v12 or something. But far from a v8. Im just curious why. Whats different about the engine vs a corvette or mustang v8

Nope that looks nothing like a ferrari has no ferrari soul and what's with that weird name? what was wrong with testarossa? Maranello? enzo? Looks like a Infiniti or Lexus disappointed.

I hear the same regarding the C class is not a real Mercedes. I just ask them what manufacturers logo is on the trunk. This has pit lane feature. So what do you think it is a Kia?
