Here\'s Why Fords Have This Serious Problem Randy: Many of Fords Ecoboost engines give a lot of trouble. These crappy engines were another bad of example of the direction Ford is moving to. They have a lot of recalls as well. Their 2018 and 2019 F150 engines, 302 V8 naturally aspired are having a lot of problems with heavy oil consumption. Stay away from FORD

Yep. The direct injection pump, is somewhat similar to the diesel engines. But they have much higher pressure. But wait until it's time to remove the intake manifold, to clean the intake and exhaust valves. There about 8 or 10 in down in there. I don't blast them with Walnut shells though. I just use a little liquid wrench, let them soak, lightly scrape them. And use the brass brushes out of a rifle cleaning kit, on a cordless drill. And a air gun to blow the crap out and a vacuum. Ford wants to replace the head when they're under warranty, and they may even tell you that when you're up around 80, 000 miles. But I can do a nice cleaning job on them and clean up your engine in 3 or 4 hours. For about a hundred bucks. But I absolutely love that two leader. 4 cylinder turbo. They will smoke that mustang GT V8, 4. 6. Much better fuel mileage and quicker response. My son has the Ford escape titanium turbo all-wheel-drive, it would smoke his millennium edition yellow mustang GT. He had to go into the computer and govern the top speed. It kept getting away from him, everywhere he was going he was up at 90 miles per hour. He governed the car to a max speed of 80 miles per. it's pretty bad when you come out of a mustang GT and go into a little SUV that you have to govern the speed. ?

I bought a troka. 2016 ford f 150. I bought it 0 miles. I had a lot of problems with her. The air conditioner has not worked well. since I bought it. I honestly do not recommend it to anyone. Some friends have told me that they had some other problems with their truck. The guarantee that Ford offers is not worth it. It was the worst purchase I ever made. Think twice before buying one. This is in my own experience. greetings to all.

I also have an 05 Prius with 280000 miles. How the heck did this guy go 310000 on the same battery? I thought my 250000 miles was good. He's right about the refurbished batteries. They gave me a 18 month guarantee on mine. But at least it's only half price after that to replace it, so 1500 over 3 years is pretty good. Now I just need to figure out why it's running lean.

In my experience the biggest fault with Fords has been with their all-wheel drive models that have the PTU that can't be serviced by Ford dealerships itself. There's no shielding by the PTU and it's buried between exhaust and the transmission. So ultimately the 16 oz of gear oil just ends up turning black in your PTU dies prematurely.

Great advice. Thanks. Except that you should torque that sensor according to specifications, especially because it deals with high pressure fuel. You don't want any possible leaks. Oh, and you forgot to put the rubber cover back on the high pressure fuel pump.

Honestly didn't believe you at first when you said the fuel pressure system gets to 1000 psi. I work with compressors that have larger pipes that regularly carry 500 psi or more of air through them so this made me do a bit of a double take.

Old school- 66 Mustang 289. Did a tune-up. Engine would misfire badly at 4, 000 RPM. Ultimately, we replaced the brand new OEM condenser with a Mallory. Problem solved. Dont forget us old folks, Scotty. It takes one to know one, right?

Hey Scotty, what is you opinion on Honda's ZF-9HP 9-speed auto transverse transmission in the Passports and Pilots? I understand they have multitude of clutches including 2 dog clutches. Good low end torque and high end fuel economy.

ScottyThe Ford Mustang with the EcoBoost 4 cylinder turbocharged engine leaks oil. What is your thoughts on that? I'm considering getting the EcoBoost mustang to whip around town. I already have a Tacoma, Corolla and a echo.
