Heres why being in quarantine will destroy your car (Dont Let It Sit Too Long) Mark: I have TWO Lexus vehicles. (Typing out the plural of Lexus just looks weird) and I thought I had a computer problem in my 2019 GX and then my 2016 ES 350 did the exact same thing. I heard what sounded like a fuel pump running when the car was off for HOURS. I freaked out a bit and asked my friend who only drives Lexuses (see, looks weird) or Toyotas and he said it's right in the manual. Lexus (and probably many others) have a fuel evaporation check. It starts after 5 hours of the car being off, it sounds like your fuel pump running. It's not, it's just pressure checking the fuel system. I'm sure it'll speed up battery drain over time over many months. So, yeah, trickle charge your battery.

Inexpensive DC clamp-meters use hall-effect sensors to read the magnetic field on the clamp core and are sensitive to their orientation relative to ambient magnetic fields. You need to zero them as close to the final measurement position and orientation as possible so the amount of bias being zero'd is as close as possible to what the meter will see wherever it is going. The zeroing is only valid for the location and orientation it was done at. If you need to take a measurement in a different location or orientation, you need to check and likely set your zero again.

Honorable mentions: Be Sure to start the car & take it for a 10 minute or more drive especially when cold (essentially operating temperature) because Your oil as so Other fluids will also break down even synthetic. Also oil rather staying on crucial parts (like it does for; synthetic lasts longer) you're going to get even more of a dry start which wears out the engine faster. So by just a once a week 20 min drive you'll keep the multiple fluids & crucial parts moving so you'll continue to get the most out of your vehicle.

MY car battery gave up almost a week before this whole pandemic started. I left it in the car. A week a ago I go to fix something on the car. could not turn on the radio. was like fuse might be blown. put the multimeter on the battery. 8. 5v. well that's dead. so I disconnected the negative terminal. now it's just sitting there. gonna replace the battery once the lockdown goes away ( I could order a new one and have it delivered to me. but it would make no sense

What about those cheap little battery isolater latches, where you pull a small lever to disconnect the negative lead? I know modern cars need power to the ECU or whatever, to prevent an expensive trip to the dealer. But for older cars like my 1999 Peugeot 306 2. 0 XSi, I can disconnect the battery until I am ready to drive the car again.

Had a friend a couple years ago whose girlfriend ended up being a real life CRACKHEAD and he couldn't stop her from making CRACK runs I told him put dirt in the oil he did 2nd run she never made it to buy the CRACK. Blew up 4 pounds dirt in 07 elantra. She was unhappy car was new at the time. Dealer said it voided warranty. DIRT

I take my pickup around a twenty mile loop at least once every 7-10 days. I also keep my tank between full and half. I also whipped up a little micro controller battery voltage monitor that periodically posts a message over lora wan and then goes back to sleep so I know if I need to drive the pickup.

I've polished and waxed my tyres to prevent UV damage. Have my car up on jack stands. Put in fuel and oil stabiliser. Left the handbrake off to prevent the brake rotors and calipers (pads. Drive the car around the back road as I live in the country. Also washed the car, polished and waxed it.

Birds in the trees. My neighbor's tree has a family of vultures roosting in it. I hate to think what just one of those could do to a car's paint. Scotty may have some poison ivy growing on that fence. Time to break out the Agent Orange. That will take care of it.
