My sister-in-law bought a '15 Chevy Cruze 1. 4L turbo brand-new from the dealership, and has had it religiously serviced at the dealer at every service interval. It has been the most unreliable piece of crap that she's every owned. It's constantly leaking coolant and leaking oil from around the turbo. It has spent an obscene amount of time at the dealer having repairs done, and half the time they tell her that they simply cannot determine the cause of the issue, or they tell her that they've fixed it, only for the problem to pop-up again a few weeks later. Before this she owned an '03 Chevy TrailBlazer 4. 2L, and the story with that was very similar. With a few notable exceptions, GM makes absolute garbage vehicles and it's gotten substantially worse over the past decade or so.

This is a little off the subject, but the Volkswagen story reminded me of it. A friend of mine had just Bought a New [ Used ] 1970 Volkswagen Fastback [ blk on blk ]. And my friend [ I'll call him Franklin ] said that he and his girl-friend and one of her [ girl ] friends went for a ride out side of town on a curvy, hilly road. All of a sudden a German Shepard walks out in the street! So my friend Swerves to miss him and the car Rolls over. Afterwards in his driveway w/ a crumpledroof, explaining all of this he said; 3 people could have been seriously hurt or Killed! And All of this for a Dog! If that ever happens again, if i can miss him I will. But if Not I'll just run into him! [ It's Not worth getting killed for a dog ]!

HAAA! Funny you brought this up, friend of mine bought a GMC on the April 10 had 23 miles on it when he brought it over the next day the 11th! Hes one of those guys who MFed me for buying a Toyota Sequoia. After his proud moment showing off his (sweet truck) it died backing out of my driveway, completely shut down nothing! No start, not even a flicker. Im automotive tech I know my way around junk. Popped the hood! This is when it got good. going for the fuses when I noticed the passenger side battery was literally melting. disconnected driver side battery and Cut the terminals to the passenger side battery! Still have that fuse box in mind, pop the cover off and more melted plastic! Thats all I gotta say about GM!

I bought a 2019 sierra slt 5. 3 lieterThe only complaint i have thus far is all the damn recalls! It runs fine! I have jyst under 11000 miles i have had it 8 or 9 months. No real problems (as of rite now. The manual i got with the truck doesent have the correct gas tank size. i had asked the dealer if my gas guage was broken. Because i went to fill it up (with 93 ultra sunoco thats all i use) with a half tank it took 14 gallons! The needle was just a hair before the half mark. How do i find out the tank size? The dealer does not know, gmc does not know, i dont know! How and where can i get this information?

Scotty: I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra 4x4 limited 190k miles, needs rear axle seals and bearings, it involves a lot of work like a press. Should I take it to a Toyota dealership or buy all my own (O. E) parts and take it to a reputable shop? The seal design was changed over time by Toyota and hear it is something that the mechanic needs to know about, (orientation, clearance) Are you aware of these first gen Yotas quirks. It is becoming more of a money pit everyday and some of the repairs (i. e starter in the intake manifold) seem like they were designed that way for dealership profit.

Just to mix your video together: The new Duramax 3. 0L straight-6 diesel also has the timing chain in the back, but opposed to the VW VR6 engine, theres also a belt on the back driving the oil pump from the crankshaft, as the chain only controls waterpump and cams. I thing the changing interval on the belt is around 150k miles - so it was literally designed so that every 150k miles, you will have to take down the transmission, and change this belt - anyway, 150k miles is probably close to the end of life of the vehicle anyway; )

I Rented a GMC Acacia in Colorado. When I was on a rural highway, it was a hilly highway, and suddenly the car wouldnt move above above 50 miles per hour. The speed limit was like 65, and everyone started passing us and wholy crap it was scary. Ended up pulling over, turning it off, and on, and then it worked fine again. It then did the same thing on a standard highway outside Denver, just a few days later! This was in 2018 and it was a 2018 model and it literally had 20, 000 miles like wow what a piece of GM junk!

Bought a new 2014 Seirra Denali in 2014 and traded it in 7 months later. What a disappointment. Previous truck was a 2004 Silverado Z71. For a top of the line truck, the GMC was horrible. Stiff bumpy ride, noisy, squeaky seat, new 6 speed trans didn't shift right. Bought a 2014 Laramie Longhorn, yeah I Scotty, but this truck is 10X better than the Denali. 5 years in service now, 48k miles, still all original and never had to take back to dealer except for a TSB for coolant hoses not compatible with new anti-freeze.

I've got an 04 Yukon with about 243k miles and every now and again the driver info goes from English to French. Once it went to Spanish and couldn't tell what setting was language. Had to use the translator on my iPhone. I've got a broken ground strap from the firewall to the hood but I can't imagine that would cause that. Sucks trying to reset my personal setting because the button the the steering wheel that sets on/off is touchy and doesn't always work and it looks like a pain to fix.
