The End of Chevy in America Avery Thomas: I went from the largest S-class Mercedes sedan, to a Chevy Volt, which is a plug-in hybrid. The only thing I have done to it in a year is change the oil once (thats all it needs. I love it and intend to get a fullyelectric car next, but which one. My father made his living at a Chevy plant and my brother too, so I come from deep roots, but I WILL NEVER BUY A CHEVY AGAIN FOR ONE REASON. THEIR SERVICE SUCKS. SUCKITY-SUCK-SUCK-SUCKSThey just dont have the caliber of people who can provide customer service. No one Ive spoken to is knowledgable about their electric vehicles mechanics. NO ONE. If anything ever does go wrong with it, Im afraid to take it to a dealership because I doubt they have mechanics who know what theyre doing with electrics. I knew more about the car than they guy selling them, and he was the resident Volt expert. What a disappointment. So what sealed the deal to no more GM products? I went to the dealership for one of my free oil changes. They couldnt get me in- for an oil change- for 4 d ays (ridiculous. In the mean time, I go over my warranty mileage by 100 miles. They charge me for the oil change That would NEVER happen at Mercedes. I probably wouldnt even have to ask. Theyd just comp it. I even told the guy when scheduling that I planned on buying another electric and hes chasing me off with this petty bs. Im buying a Tesla. Why? Because at least I can talk to ENGINEERS about my car, and not have to deal with advisors who are either ignorant, or treat me like I dont know anything, or both. ps Im a woman. And probably know more about cars than most men. I used to do all my own mechanics until I got my BMW, when I decided to not do the heavy mechanics like brakes, etc. anymore, since I finally had the money not to

Looking back. G M. was getting squeezed from all sides and decided to move into what they were led to believe was going to be the new number one world super power. in hopes that it would probably motivate other American corporations. To move from the United States into chine and become mostly Chinese owned by more than 50%. paid for with all the assets it had to surrender in order to be allowed to do business in. China. and by the end of the last administration the media and the and many government official kept repeating that China was to become the number one world super power. and that it was the result of the new global economy and that there was nothing anyone could do. .It almost worked: .until a a man named Donald Trump got elected to the presidency of the USA. and. who in record timing has reversed the trend and placed the USA back on top as the #1 world super power. Amen to that.

Like several people already mentioned, I didnt like GM getting a bailout in the last recession. However, I also didnt like Ford being run by family members of the founder. I also didnt like Fiat buying Chrysler (quality suffered. Unlike Scotty, I am not a big fan of Toyota. I once owned one that I bought new, and the maintenance costs were fairly high (great engine, but other parts of the car were not that good, and thus the high expense to maintain. So, all car makers have their flaws. I do like Honda. Right now, I own a GM/Chevy car, and it has been fairly reliable with minimal maintenance costs. I agree that GM will likely move production offshore at some point, and the quality could suffer.

Any new American car is crap. 2008 Ford F-150. Went trough 2 transmissions, one at 90k miles, the other at 165k miles, an engine rebuild 180k miles, and now the rear end shakes at/over 40mph or at half throttle. Got too much money into the truck idk if its even worth too sell now. Buying American is not on my list anymore. I wish I wouldve bought a Tacoma. By the way b4 anyone starts to rampage on my opinion, I do prefer Classic Muscle over anything, I own a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro z28. I also own a 1979 Pontiac Bonneville. All car companies make it harder for people to work on newer cars at home forcing them to take the vehicle to a dealership for service.

There used to be a saying, What was good for GM was good for America. How silly that is today as GM continues to find new ways to screw the country. They take a bailout and the government sends the bill to middle class taxpayers, who at the same time are getting foreclosed out of their homes, but not getting any help from the government. Then GM files bankruptcy and screws their creditors. Now, theyre moving operations overseas and laying off those middle class workers who helped pay for their bailout. And one other insult: do you realize GM hasnt paid any taxes in over a decade? Even though theyve posted huge profits they havent paid a dime in taxes.

the end result, is all of Chevrolet and gmc products are just that, products, bought and sold, there are many products made abroad, still they sell, these idiots running the company, are running itIn the ground, i know, I used to work for gm in the heyday, when they could do no wrong, they are all wrong as of now, i fixed their screw-ups, i was trained by them, they made a lot of screw-ups from 1978 and on, when you work on these products you see the shortcomings and the idiocy of the new engineers

Scotty in this video: the V6 twin-turbo raptor is less reliable because it has twin turbos putting 1, 000 PSI into the engine versus 40 PSI of the V8. Umm, the V8 doesnt compress air beyond atmospheric pressure because it has no turbo, and theres not a chance in hell a gasoline V6 twin-turbo is running 1000 PSI. Thats a ludicrous statement. As for reliability, my 92 MR2 turbo has almost 200K on it. Its been plenty reliable over the decades. He just likes the V8 because its a V8.

trump came down on ford pretty hard and they just laughed and went to mexico anyway. its just a matter of time before THEY GONE and its got nothing to do with union wages, theyre arent any workers on the assembly floor anymore, its all robots. the majority of corporations are glutted with middle management. these corporations move off shore because they can dump their garbage right out the back door and save a bazillion dollars every year, THATS the reason

45 years ago, Generic Motors got advised to instill quality, and make the cars and vehicles more efficient. Failure would mean getting swept by the imports. Quality only happened because of robotics, and true efficiency arrived in maybe the last six years. Meanwhile, the cheapest Kia has better durability and quality control than most any Generic Motors product. Have fun in China -- until the citizens figure out theyre getting ripped off

THANK YOU for explaining the Ford eco boost garbage. I didnt believe all the crap they said about how wonderful it was and compared it to the V-8. Im older and I dont trust anybody that says they can build a 6 cylinder that will work just as good as an 8. If they can prove it, well then Im wrong. But I dont want to be 50, 000 dollars wrong. You are the only person who has had an intelligent thing to say about this that Ive heard.
