This move honestly made me lose a lot of respect for Elon Musk. Even if you're in favour of free trade and open markets, there's no getting around the fact that China is only able to undercut US workers by such significant margins because they use borderline slave labour. Elon Musk is a billionaire, but that evidently doesn't stop him from employing Chinese sweatshop workers to build his cars then turning around and selling them to the American consumer at a significant markup. Globalists like Elon are nothing but parasites feeding off the labour of the working classes; they contribute nothing of value to any country in which they operate. He wants to gouge the American consumer but doesn't want to hire them while he simultaneously expects the Chinese to labour 16 hours a day building his cars while refusing to pay them a living wage. The cherry on top is that billionaires like Elon always find a way to avoid paying taxes on their ill gotten wealth. Elon can say whatever he wants but at the end of the day the surest measure of a man's character is found in his actions and his do not speak kindly of him.

I cant blame Elon Musk, this sounds like a good deal He makes friends, smoothes things over, cause China is on top of hella mines I heard. Lots of stuff needed to make the electric cars, its the best choice. He can have his own deals going and at the very least get some extra things from the mines over here so we can get cars as well, or whatever brings down the prices. Like another person said: the other day you were talking about nobody making cars in the U. S. anymore, so it did seem weird to take stabs at Tesla G. M. pulled their electric vehicles even though people said they ran great, just to please BIG OIL Often people are complaining about the battery and charging the car. Ive heard stories of people coming up with great solutions and getting murdered Other countries have cars that run on water, air, and other things We get the same damn cars with barely any advancement in the amount of m. p. g, I mean most car makers arent even trying to outdo themselves Theyre just (_)

There's another reason why Tesla is opening a production facility in China. The Chinese government is pushing consumers to buy electric cars, with some substantial incentives. Pollution in Chinese cities is horrendous and the government knows they have to respond. And there should be no question about their ability to make major changes. For example, I first visited Shanghai in 2010. At that time there were millions of gas-powered motor scooters running around the city. The next time I went to Shanghai, in 2017, all the gas-powered scooters were off the streets, replaced by electric scooters. You needed a special permit to own and operate a gas-powered scooter in Shanghai. They could very well make a similar decision about cars--no more gas-powered cars allowed on the street after a certain date. Tesla is smart to get ahead of this trend.

Hes building them in China because China is one of the fastest electric car adopters in the world. Also, China has granted him to build and sell his cars under his own company. So he doesnt have to brand with a Chinese company to have to build and sell cars there. He still plans on building cars here in America for a while. Hes smart and trying to jump on the money train due too the high electric car sales in China. Due to Trumps trade war with China it might not be cheaper to build them there and then ship them over here. Im sure its inevitable at some point for the bulk of musks cars will be built there and shipped over, one day. As far as our trade war with China as soon as a trump can build his hotels over there itll be over. LOL

My sister owns a Ford Fiesta. She bought it from a local Ford dealership (Eck in Wichita) 2 years ago. She wanted me to drive it not long after she purchased it thinking the auto trans was going out. I couldn't believe it The thing was clunking, banging, and jerking through all the gears up and down. I told her to quickly make an appt with Eck before it blew up Eck told her that's the way it supposed to sound. Eck went on to say we're going to give you a double warranty on the trans, whatever that means; probably said that because she's a woman. What the hey is wrong with Ford making such a crummy piece of equipment? Just like the 3 valve phasers being a pile, Ford puts a trans in a car that sounds like it came from a junkyard.

I was able to Lemon Law my 2014 Ford Focus due to transmission issues amongst a few other issues that kept going back to the service department. Call the Ford Re-aquirement department at corporate and get the ball rolling. You can Lemon Law pretty much any Ford Focus 2011-2015 especially if you bought it at a Ford Dealer (and extra-especially as certified used) Here's the thing though, per the Lemon Law they have to either pay you out or give you a brand new vehicle of the same model. Unfortunately in this case they are not making the Ford Focus anymore so they have to pay you out. Also, there are miscellaneous charges on the buy-back, contest those and they should take it off. Good luck.

What is a good car to buy if you want to learn how to work on cars? Like everything from painting, to wraps, to rebuilding engines, to adding a turbo. I'm not a huge fan of tuners like honda civic, subaru wrx, but I am a big fan of american classic cars, as well as luxury brands like Lexus. There is so much info on honda civic from the 95-2001 era, would it make sense to go with something like that? I really want a project car, but I want something peppy or obtain a speedy car by modifying it or rebuilding/working parts.

Tesla isn't leaving. The Chinese factory is for the Chinese market. That's because the Chinese auto market is the largest in the world by far (especially for EVs, and high import duties there make it uneconomical to export there. All automakers have factories in China because of this. The long term plan is to have one factory in China for the Chinese market, one in the US for the North American market, and one in Europe for the European market. Those are the three largest auto markets in the world.

No Tesla isn't going to China. My brother worked for GM and was offered a job in China and he said no. There are many reasons but China is pretty much red necks who are clueless. If you manufacture in China, China owns half your company and they are thieves. Tesla is claiming they will manufacture in a non Chinese trade zone which puts Tesla under a huge tariff as far as selling in China. etc. etc. Car are not easy to manufacture in China. Tesla will go Bankrupt this year.
