Doing This Will Make Your Engine Run Better #7 D. Mann: Hey Scotty, I own a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. I've had it for about three years now and twice I've had to change the radiator thermostat because that was the code the scan tool was putting out. My check engine light came on again today and my screen would not read the coolant temperature. Is there a potentially bigger problem? Coolant levels are fine and this is the only problem I've had with this vehicle.

Hi Scotty, I have a? for you. I have a 1993 Toyota Tercel that recently had 2 CV axils replaced, a blown valve and head gasket replaced and it drove good until after the smog check ( it passed the smog check). Then, it had and still has an idle problem. Also, drives good but after a stop its slow in going forward and sounds like just married cans underneath. Scotty, What is your diagnosis and remedy? I would really appreciate your experienced advice. Thank you.

Hey Scotty, could you give some background on Pontiacs in general? I got a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT1 for 2000 on craigslist and I had to only replace the coolant and fuel filter. It runs like and dream and has 250k miles on it. I hear a lot of negatives about the car since this car was made by GM with a Pontiac sticker on it. I like the car, but I don't understand how GM made the car terrible.

I confess I have never replaced the spark plug in my 08 Ford focus. 120 k on it. Bought new set of platinum plus plugs 5 years ago, plugs still riding around in the trunk. Go figure I grew up with 60ties and 70ties carborated automobiles. Alwats changing plugs in them. If it aint broke dont fix it, Afraid since factory plugs are still in pkace they might be seized to the aluminum heads.

Great video, Scotty I had a similar deal with my '05 Mercedes C240, except it was a power loss. I was using a K&N filter (looks like the Soltice had a similar filter. I suspected oil mist might have come off the filter and contaminated the MAF sensor. I got a can of MAF call earner and it's as good as new The car now has regular air filters and the K&Ns are gone

Scotty, really need your help, please. 1996 Jeel Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4. 0L. Windows won't go up-down, AC clutch won't engage, odometer stuck at millage when the electrical issue started 1. 5yrs ago. Tried checking wires, ground connections, put a new ignition switch as was suggested by a mechanic, but no fix. please help?

Scotty, I sprayed many of the bolts and screws in my engine bay with anti-rust penetrating oil. But now all the nuts and screws are SUPER RUSTED. I now have to go to the wreckers and find replacments for all the ones that have rusted out. I will never spray under my hood with any oil preventative again. I learned my lesson.

Hey Scotty, will cleaning under your hood matter in the long run? I sometimes like to get a clorox wipe and wipe off any dust or oil there (I'm careful around electrical parts of course. Wondering if it helps at all; I just like being clean just in case even though it gets dirty fast again.

Damn Scotty, you can't afford to take off your 50 cent gloves before getting into your customer's car and touching the door handle, steering wheel, etc. with your greasy gloves? I'm sure your customer would pay the extra dollar (50 cents profit for you) to not have grease stains in the car.

Scotty should have tossed out the oil filled K&N air filter (which can cause the issue, replaced all the old spark plugs and torqued them to factory specs. And then torqued the ignition coils to factory specs. Also do not throw parts of the engine on the windshield to avoid scratches, etc.
