Scotty, what you said about premium gasoline in that context may be true; however, nowadays with Euro 6 emission standards here in Europe, low sulfur content diesel (10ppm) is a must to avoid DPF problems and ensure the common rail system works efficiently. I sold my old Toyota Hilux after eight years and the emissions card read an incredible 0. 01 The guy who bought it couldnt believe it. I dont know about other premium fuels, but Shell V-Power Diesel really worked for me. Moreover, the truck was so sporty and responsive that it impressed everyone who took it for a test drive; they thought it was because of some sort of modification.

Hey Scotty I maintain a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment. I found with our gas engine Chevy trucks that are drive by wire (no throttle cable) When I clean the throttle blades and move them by hand it will affect how the engine runs until it re learns the throttle position and will idle higher than usual. If I clean them and not change the blade manually it wont have any idle issues. To be able to clean inside without forcing the blade open by hand I turn the key on push the throttle pedal down with a rod, the blade will open electronically and I can clean inside the throttle body without causing any issues.

Hi scotty I have a 2007 grand marquis and its doing well but the temp goes up while driving. I have a live feed of the coolant temp and when the car is idling its around 86-94c and then the fan kicks in and cools it down but when driving and going around 1500-2000 rpm it goes up to -96-98. Coolant is new and there isnt any leaks or sounds from the water pump. The temp gauge on the dashboard is showing half way only but the life feed from the ECU never went this high especially while driving so if you have any idea why or how to fix this issue please tell me

Use a scantool for temps on a modern car Many cars have a dummy temp gauge. I drove a Cruze for a week with numerical temperature gauge as well as a needle. Once it hit 180 the needle stayed parked at one notch below half. It had one of those electronic thermostats that runs the engine hot when cruising. All the way to 230, the needle didn't budge. My 2016 Fusion also has a dummy gauge. I plugged in my scangauge when i climbed Mt Washington. It runs 192-198 cruising, and up to a maximum of 220 climbing 10-15% grade in 2nd. The needle didn't move.

Heya scotty I have a 2015 fiat 500 with 22k miles and the mpg has been droping for the last few months. I was getting around 28mpg now im getting about 21 consistently. Dealer said i should use higher octane fuel. Go figure. oh and on a cold start there is a fuel smell in the cabin. dealer said there was no leaks - so i guess that means the smell is just normal: P. right? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine has a m. a. p sensor which requires a little care when cleaning. Car runs smoother as a result. Had a duff injector which made the 02 sensor stop switching, ecu detected misfire on cylinder 3 so replaced injector and cleaned the sensor and low and dehold it started switching again. It's amazing how one fault can lead to many. A scanner and a bit of detective work does wonders. Love your advice scotty.

New fuel and air filter every year, if it needs it or not. Change oil and filter every 4 months if it needs it or not. Change tranny fluid and filter once a year, if it needs it or not. Flush radiator and change coolant once a year, if it needs it or not, same with brake lines and pads. Change tires every 3 years regardless of miles, rubber decays.

Hey Scotty, I have a 2010 Honda Civic and lately my gas mileage has gone way down per tank. I used to get around 300 miles per tank and my last fill only game me 210 miles on a full tank. My driving habits are the same and I'm going to the same Chevron gas station I always go to. Any idea what it could be that's causing me this problem?

Scotty, last week for the first time I cleaned my MAF with the MAF CLEANER. not sure why, but my gas mileage has gone down dramatically. Is there anything specific you can give me about this. I have a 2003 Toyota matrix 208, 000 miles. Before cleaning at gas mileage was Dramatically better. Im confused.
