You (i) should have remembered that you were staying at the Ritz and (ii) should have asked the concierge of said hotel if you could borrow a small injector of lock de-icer. (For future reference: Five bucks at Target, Walmart, Pep Boys, AutoZone, or any friggin' hardware store. Simple piece of advice from a car guy from New England)

Honesty Counts
If that is an all-metal key (for the ski box, then you can thaw out the lock by simply sticking the key into the lock, then use a lighter to heat up the key itself. The heat will flow from the key into the lock and after 30 seconds the lock should open easily.

Ohhh man, and OVER HERE WE HAVE the 1991 Jetta. One point eight turbo, pushing 97 horsepower at 56 foot pounds of torque. Vinyl accent interior. And of course we have the salvage title. God, I love the 14 American Racing rims.
