December 21st marked the winter solstice here and the shortest day of the year, with only 5 hours and 40 minutes of daylight. Note: This is the independent upload from which is streamed a couple just before new years. I still experience issues when uploading files to youtube and they are working on fixing it. When this permanent fix will come is still unknown, but hopefully it will be sooner than later. Explanation in short: Films uploaded hardly get processed beyond 360p, even if they are 4K. After deleting and re-uploading several times, some passes and gets processed as 1080p. Sadly, 4K is now as rare as a unicorn. I just hope they can solve these issues soon, so please bear with me. Bergen Line information: Flam Line information: Signaling information: Line information and speed: Train Stops at: Voss Myrdal Hallingskeid Finse Haugastl Ustaoset Geilo l papaowl13803: I find it amazing that on the first day of winter solstice there is so much snow on the ground. Had this much snow when I was a kid growing up. And did love it. But now lucky to get this much the whole winter. And thats no joke. Have seen no snow untill late Dec. And then only 3 to 4 inches. Norway is so LUCKY.

On a Norway railway line
There's a driver who does shine
Hindu Cow Girl is her name
Thousands know of her fame
Myrdal, Finse, Bergen, Voss
Of the train she is the boss
Fields of grass and fields of snow
We see on her video
Bridges, tunnels, sun and showers
We sit and watch for hours and hours.
Myrdal, Finse, Bergen, Voss
Of the train she is the boss
Now come on herd, some of you must be able to do better than that.

My 13 year old daughter is fascinated by your videos and loves the snowy scenes. She'd like to know where you mount the camera and microphone if you're willing to share that. We figure it must not be a GoPro since the poles don't have any fish-eye effect. Wonderful videos - thank you for sharing your views!

Ice Planet Hoth when arriving at Finse was a nice touch, I didn't know they shot the Hoth snow scenes in Finse (I checked that after seing this! Very nice video, I love the snow landscapes, maybe because I've never been in the snow so far, but I'm gonna be in Trondheim in March, so I may change my mind; -)

Another question: I see a lot of houses high up in the mountains and under the snow, some even quite big, I think they are farms. They have electricity and probably heat with wood, gas or even electricity, but how do they get water so high in the mountains?

Hi Cowgirl! I assume after a meal break you drive a later train back to Voss? It is amazing how addicting these videos are! Would love to visit Norway but I hate flying so that pretty much limits me to N. America and the Caribbean. Thanks so much!

Wow! Nice ride. So much heavy snow that one tends to wonder how one can possibly drive a train through it. You are one amazing train driver HCG. Even if an avalanche came I am sure you could take the train through. Hats off to you.
