Are there any publications which illustrate the steam era route against the current route? You could never run a steam engine in those long (>1km) tunnels. It and its crew and passengers would run out of oxygen. All the stations on this route have a similar layout of track and facilities, but none are seen to be used for any type of freight. I know Norway is a rich county with cheap fuel, but there is still emission issues.

always learned that if you do make the decision to say YES when the boss asks you if you can come in and work on one of your days off, that it tends to make a good impression on you on his side, that is why ALMOST every single time when mine asked me if I culd come in on my days off, I would say YES, I could almost never say no. LOL

Question: Why do you blow for some crossings and not others, and why so far from the actual crossing? Here in the U. S. they have to blow approaching the crossing and continue until they pass the crossing. Interesting how different countries handle this!

It doesn't seem that long ago, that ice etched the paths for rails to later follow. In winter dusk descends at 2 p. m, and snow falls along with the bitter cold. How romantic! What a privilege to drive this Bergen Line, even on a day off!

I'm mostly knowledgeable on planes, wondering if you have to do a complete walk around to check all panels, etc. are closed and there isn't anything unusual or out of place before driving the train?

It's weird thinking about how Stadler has made a concept called FLIRT and a concept called KISS, can somebody explain why?
