Extreme winter conditions on the mountain pass (Stormy winter conditions on the mountain pass REMASTERED) this day for the Regional Train between Bergen and Oslo. The trains on the Bergen Line travers one of the most inhospitable winter environments in Norway. The weather can go from pure sunshine to deadly winter storm in matter of minutes. The roads and air traffic usually stop long before the Railway is deemed too dangerous. This is thanks to the awesome people working day and night to keep the line open under these treacherous conditions. For me the trip starts at Voss operating the train over the mountain pass to l in Hallingdal where another driver takes over

Hi HCG, another video I enjoyed, what I don't get is what do those people who live in those houses at
Hallingskeid and Finse do for a living let alone survive under those extreme conditions. Always
enjoy learning more about Norway since I have become a big fan of your famous singer Sissel Kyrkjebo
who I listen to often.
Thanks again for all the work you do to put this video online. PC

I love HCG's value-added video notes such as the one on lighting at the 59 minute mark in this video. It gives me added appreciation and understanding of what it takes to do a demanding job regardless of the season and the weather. Bravo!

Its been many many years since my daily commute to college at Cambridge. I only wish it had been as scenic and smooth as your trips are. Im not jealous (who am I kidding, Im very jealous)

How fast are you going? It looks really fast. I love your videos, they are the best. Would love some biographical information about you, how you came to be a train driver, even a photo?

Apparently, there's nothing that can stop a Norwegian train! UK trains (which grind to a halt at the first sign of snow) look even more pathetic after seeing this.

In conditions like this I'd love to see a couple of rear facing cameras showing the amount of snow these Herculean monsters actually move! Fantastic footage!

Here in the UK the whole rail network grinds to a halt if we get an inch 2. 5cm of snow, the excuse they use every time is, its the wrong type of snow
