We continue this fascinating journey, past forgotten stations and abandoned rolling stock, although the main running line is generally well maintained. The highlight of this section is travelling along the top edge of the Aggitis Canyon, for much of this part of the trip the line passes through fertile plains and rolling hills, with occasional colourful towns and villages

Hi Tim. For you to know I am origin of a small vilage by the name of Alistrati, very close to Aggitis Gore.
Now, Aggitis Gore in antiquity was the only pass from the Roman Province of Macedonia to the Roman Province of Trace, so the Romans build their famous long Via Egnatia, to pass from excactly the same Gore from where the train line now passes. Via Egnatia in Roman times was connecting the Adriatic with the Black Sea. Today cities of Albanian Durres an Instanbul Turkey. So you have travel ancient passes. Maybe not so famous as Grimsel or Oberalp or Gottard passes but still Roman Street Passes. Thank you for visiting.

Man! these -taggers- don't miss many ops to destroy some one else's property! Just like a ride through the Heart of the 'Hood beautiful Uptown North Philly. They sure bring down the property values wherever they strike. Also this rear facing, forward facing, and back to the same scene of rear facing, is confusing as hell. I don't know if I'm coming or going half the time

I have to say, alot of the farm land and terrain reminds me of what we have here in middle TN. It appears that their used to be alot more traffic on this line, yet the main line is very well maintained. I imagine there are still freight trains carrying grain on this line?

Superb, thanks. I think I'll move to Drama, it sounds like the perfect place to have a mid-life crisis. If I need something to do I could help restore that La Meuse 0-10-0.

Great video Tim. Liked seeing the old stock and abandoned Stations. The Aggitis Canyon looked impressive. Steve. -
