I had considered buying a drone for over a year, no one I knew had one, so I had to rely on the internet for information, after all it is a lot of money to spend, only to crash and be left with a wreck. SlrHut offered some great deals in the January sales and their online reviews were OK, so I bit the bullet and ordered one, to my surprise it was shipped from America (there made be warranty issues, but the saving was substantial. It arrived within a week and everything was fine apart from the weather, but finally the sun came out and the wind dropped. I had practiced flying it for about half and hour before I shot this video, so what you see is taken by a complete novice with no training at all. If you are interested in what a drone can do, this video may help. The aircraft used is a DJI Phantom 3 Professional

oh a very nice toy Tim. Can not wait to see it over Furka Grimsel and Gotthart by this summer, disapearing into the mist and smoke of vapor old locos, flying over viaducts, and sneaking on top of tunels waiting for the train to come!
Wish you a lot of succes!

Great video Tim. I have several friends who own one. You'll soon be very proficient at using it, and will rely on it heavily when filming in the future. especially Trains i'd imagine. you'll be addicted before you realise. lol. Cheers. Steve. -: )

Nice job, really steady shots! I was thinking of buying a drone but could not decide upon a brand or model, I have a GoPro.
