A camera was set up at the back of the train to record the view back along the line, Part 1 covers the route from Caernarfon to Rhyd Ddu, starting out along the alignment of the former standard gauge railway to Afon Wen as far as Dinas where we join the original Welsh Highland Railway route. Our train passes through pleasant rolling hill country to Tryfan Junction, shortly after which the line follows the course Afon Gwyrfai (River) to Plas y Nant where we start climbing towards Snowdon Ranger (Halt) with wonderful views of Llyn Cwellyn (Lake. We are in the mountains proper now as the noise from the steam locomotive increases as it lifts our train through the beautiful mountain scenery to Ryhd Ddu. In Part 2 we complete the trip to Porthmadog

Yep, another great trip taken from the comfort of my computer chair! Nice one, Tim! By the way, is this a Standard-Gauge or Narrow-Gauge line? It's hard to tell when watching a computer screen.

Wow, there has to be some pretty mean grades near the end of this video, love the scenery, very enjoyable to just slouch in my chair and appreciate the view. many thanks, and keep them coming.

Hello Tim, first half is like hypnosis. Leaving and leaving makes sleepy. If there are not horses or sharp turns I would to much tranquilized. - Heinz

As I watch the opening couple of minutes, gotta say the old train's crawling out of Caernarfon Station, I think a couple of snails just overtook it! LOL
