The day started with a coach ride from our Prague Hotel to Turnov station, where we were greeted by the sight of one of the most attractive little 0-6-0 tank engines I-ve ever seen, No. 310. 0134 -Litovel-, built in Prague by PCM to an Austrian design, complete with a short train of period four wheel carriages and a luggage van. After watching railcars come and go we boarded our train ready to tour of one of the most beautiful regions of the Czech Republic, the Krkono-e or Giant Mountains, straddling the Czech-Polish border, rising to well over a thousand metres they are the highest mountains in the Czech Republic. 01: 33 - Map of Europe - - Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document according to the terms of Creative Commons - Attribution-ShareAlike version 1. 0 or any later version 01: 35 - Map of Czech railways - Attribution: Czech railway company: -esk- dr-hy, a. s, Ing. Moving right along, especially if the video was in real time which it seemed to be. I didn't expect so much speed from a little tank engine. I don't usually watch a video that is more than 20-25 minutes long, but I am glad I made the exception to watch this one. Highlights for me were at about 18: 00 when meeting what looked like a short bullet train, and in the last minute, 47: 00 to the end; meeting other modern trains. Both stops included good views of the steam engine.
Also, many many thanks for NOT obliterating the natural sounds with a music track.

Hello Tim, in Bavaria such cute locos (whether steam, diesel or electric) or trains are called -Bockerl-. German -Bock- like billy goat, -erl- is the minorization. Other sample of -Bockerl- you visited are the train in Austria with the little blue electric loco near Graz and the Waldbahn crossing the soccer field in Slowakei. These are particularly popular with little kids and -elder children-. - The scenery reminds me of similar Bavarian railways, which were founded at the end of the 19th century as -Lokalbahnen- (local railways. - Greetings, Heinz

Hi Tim, What a great ride! Thank you. Question for anyone: At the beginning, when leaving the yard we see a string of canvas covered cars on the right side; are these for any cargo? or for a more specific load?

Very enjoyable. I couldn't help noticing the dearth of visible signals and controls for single line working. I think it was 16: 35 or so before I saw what I recognized as a lineside signal.

Thanks for this Tim. Beautiful scenery and great locos. Hard to believe that this won't be happening fir a long time now, until the world settles from the Corona Virus. Take care.

Endlich kommt die Dampflokomotive in Tschechien! Obwohl das Wetter nicht so gut ist, scheint die Fahrt noch faszinierend zu sein.
