This was the last day of our -Railway Touring Company- adventure, exploring the standard and narrow gauge railways of the Czech Republic and Lower Austria. We made our way through Gm-nd, an attractive town on the Austria/Czech Republic border to the new Waldviertelbahn station opened in 2014 where we were greeted by the smell of steam locomotive No. Mh1 simmering at the head of a rake of four, four wheeled carriages. The morning sun picked out the polished brass boiler bands against the pristine black paintwork of our locomotive, the air was cold, puddles were still frozen and the frost was just beginning to thaw. Please join me as we boarded our train ready to begin the first part of our trip to Litschau. This video includes forward, passenger and line-side views, I will also upload a -Driver-s Eye- only version in the coming weeks as some people have expressed a preference for Driver's Eye only videos. For more information about the railways of the Waldviertelbahn or to book a ride

Hi Tim, thanks for another view of a country I will never visit. I've heard of Storm Chasers but not Train Chasers, I was hoping no cars were coming the opposite way. Am I correct in the use of wood for the loco? Stay safe in UK.

Thank you once again Tim. Question: have you ever looked into why train videos such as this one, have such a magnetic, almost mesmerizing appeal to them? I am grateful for your help in getting me to a place where I can sleep.

29: 04 Neu Nagelberg translates into English as New Nail Mountain. Alt, simply means Old, just swap out Neu for Alt for the name of the destination of this train.

Wonderful ride - Austria is soooo clean, nice shots of some rivers, got the fishing rod ready. That steam engine is a beauty, well looked after. Cheers
