Normally I would prefer those Bt coaches with driving cab (voiture pilote) as their seats are more comfy and ride quality is slightly better and they are a bit newer too - shame on SBB always use those older rolling stock for IR90 for so many years which is also not capable for 200km/h in speed

unfortunately, we can't see when you rode this train. the unit cars IV you show in this video were delivered from 1981 to 1991 and at that time there was no need for notebook desks.
this is also the reason why the comfort you are used to in the seats is not available.

In the EW IV there are no sensors you need to stand close to for the doors. What you need though is a little more patience because the sensors are under the floor plating and if you step on it they will open.

on the newer trains (at least 50% of long-distance trains) there are better tables and seats and the trains are much better in general (more spacious, quieter, smoother)

After 7: 50 there is two big castle in Sion but I thing you didn-t see. if you will go back in Switzerland try the Intercity this is the best train

Dont know the problem about tables? IC2000 and also EW IV have several bigger tables to work on with computer. You can choose seat with small or large table.

Next time you're in Lausanne, take the train direction Frribourg/Bern. The view during the first 10min is even much better than this one!
