Im not sure if you take suggestions but a Train talk about how trains use sand for traction would be great! I have a group that enjoys watching your train talk videos and learning about different aspects of the railroad and one question that came up after our local Caltrain smashed open it's sandbox in accident with a truck, (no injuries, was what is sand use for? I did explain it a little bit but I think this would be a great topic to dive into, because sand is used for so much more then just snow and icy weather.

I plan to film the coaster trains. I already film the first one at the Santa Fe station in San Diego after I film the Amtrak surfliner leaving the station, Amtrak surfliner F59 locomotive parked at the station, filming in the depot, and the light rail MTS trains. I film the coaster train at the platform at the end of the film and then it left the station.

They may be purchasing two more sc-44s! At least metrolink is keeping f59phis 884-887 because they were built fairly recently, coaster doesn-t have an excuse! The new numbers have been revealed which will be 4101-4105 and if the 2 extras are purchased, 4106-4107! Next in 20 years will probably be electrifying the line!

Can you do a Train Talk episode on Caltrain, Mike? I know you've seen that before. I know Caltrain runs in the San Francisco bay area. You could talk about the history of Caltrain, the ridership fare, the equipment used, the areas providing service, and what the future holds in store for Caltrain.

Man, the Coaster is so much cheaper than the MARC train service. Traveling from DC to Martinsburg on the Brunswick line cost $13. Even the cheapest full-length trip from DC to Baltimore on the Camden line costs more than an entire trip on the Coaster.

I really badly hope that when the Chargers arrive, they rebuild the F40s (and perhaps also the F59PHis) to prolong their service lives and let them run alongside the Chargers instead of replace them! If Metra can do it, so can they!

Thanks for the very detailed videos! I don't live in the US and I must go there in the next few years to take a glimpse on F40PH-2C because they probably won't last long and they will become history just like the ones in Amtrak

So sad to see that some of the locomotives and coaches with some of the best K5LA's ever (At least in my opinion) will be sent to the grave. .. However, great video as always!

I've oddly enough found a way to compare this smaller commuter line to the much larger SEPTA network through a portion of its fleet (the Bombardier/EMD/Siemens portions)
