The Sounder is a commuter train that runs along Puget Sound in Washington State. Trains are operated by Sound Transit on two different routes. The North route travels between downtown Seattle and Everett while the South route runs from Seattle to Lakewood, a few miles past Tacoma. Sounder service began on September 18th, 2000 with the opening of the south line. Three years later, regular service began on the north line to Everett. September of 2020 marks the commuter railroad-s 20th anniversary. Let-s celebrate by taking a look at some Sounder commuter trains in action over the last several years!

Down here in Iowa we kinda need a commuter rail between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids because the interstate is getting a little busy but 380 express ( a bus service) and with that even with 380 express is not helping the traffic at all it's going to make the traffic worse on I 380

What I don-t understand is the lack of stations on the North Line out of Seattle. Surely there must be some demand for intermediate stops between Seattle and Edmonds. The line passes through or by a few substantial suburbs. Why aren-t they served?

I like the explosion of commuter rail and light rail in the western cities over the last 20 years, can't imagine how bad traffic would be in those places if they weren't operating those.

What are the chances Coasterfan and Jaw Tooth upload at the same time? Very cool, I plan on watching this whole video once I get my homework done!

On my way to Seattle, Washington. I was railfanning at the air museum and saw a Sounder train and also a F40PH Amtrak Cascade train go by.

Hey mike I just wanted to give you a idea for a video. I was just if you were going to make a video on lift bridges and how they work

Nice video CoasterFan! The livery looks nice, and also why do some trains only have 2 or 3 cars, while others have up to 7 cars?

Sounds like they bought the MP36H'S? From GORAIL, and the other loco's sound like they was bought off from amtrak surferliner
