Durianrider and the Banana Girl AussieGirl: So much ignorance in this video. Most produce in America is genetically modified. America is highly deregulated, giving free reign for corporations to get away with a lot of dodgy and toxic practices. Australia is about quality, America is about quantity. And yeah things are dirt cheap in America because of slavery wages. A large portion of the population there can barely survive from week to week and have no health care. People working fulltime still need to apply for government assistance in order to feed themselves. The streets are lined with homeless people. I'm perfectly fine paying a realistic price for goods and produce and living in a country with free, world class healthy care, get paid a real wage and where the majority of the population are happy and have an amazing quality of life.

USA prodce is cheap! I bought 3 mangoes yesterday at 1. 28 a piece. 7 kiwis are roughly 4. A honeydew was 5 and a papaya was 6. Not cheap imo. Plus, it's a battle to find ripe fruit. The mangoes I bought are rock hard currently, so I'll have to wait several days before it's edible. But I suppose I always assumed that places like Australia would have cheap fruit nearly year round because of the optimal weather, so I was shocked to hear differently. I guess the common denominator for most of us is that fruit is much more expensive than junk food or non-vegan options and if the scenario were switched, we could all afford more produce: (

Hi Freelee, thank you for helping so many people get inspired to live healthier! You've helped me, a girl with eating disorder background more than you could know: ) Not to be presumptuous, but have you ever heard of Nathan Wheeler? He has a series of youtube videos called Truthmefree and they've been so educational for me-I hoped /thought maybe theyd interest you too. Lots of references to the mystery of where the human race is ultimately going, the overall nature of who we are as matter and energy, spirit and body. God Bless

Berries are not cheap at all in the U. S lol. At least not where I'm buying them. It's 6 US dollars, 6. 50 australian dollar, for a very small tiny container of blueberries. Maybe that's cheap for Australia, but for the U. S, it is extremely expensive lol Australia also has much higher minimum wage rates than the U. S.

the US is really NOT cheap when it comes to fruits and vegetables. I've been there a couple of weeks. sometimes I could not believe these prices. Btw I live in Germany. I mean, organic food is always more expensive than normal supermarket stuff, but still, it's cheaper.

I'm American, and shocked to hear them talk positive about the US! Not complaining because it's seldom heard, but was really shocking. Yeah though, we have GMO out the arse in our produce and things seem cheap, but wages and hours are steadily going down so it's like. meh.

Food might be cheaper here in the US, but it's full of pesticides. I buy organic as much as I can and that is very expensive, and I hope for the best. I wonder if the fruit and veggies in Australia is GMO and full of pesticides?

Yikes I couldn't afford shit there! !0 for berries, they're like 4 for non organic and like maybe 6 for organic. But that's if you don't have a trader joes, there its a freaking goldmine of lushes organics!

Wow, I had know idea the fruit was so much more scarce and expensive in Australia. But remember, much of our food is filled with pesticides and GMO's. We have to make a special effort if we want to buy organic.
