Deficient blood test results after 7. 5 years Vegan? blogs: Disclaimer: All the best to vegans and everyone else. It's important to look at all facts, and carefully weigh information when making decisions. These are points that were not mentioned in the video.
1. Remember that blood tests are just a snapshot in time. While useful, they are one tool to help determine overall health. Blood tests DO NOT give you a picture of what your body is doing, or compensating for to keep these levels normalized.
2. Amenorrhea, losing your period, indicates a deficiency itself, which will not appear on a blood test. If your body does not have sufficient nutrients to enable you to have your period, then your body will prevent you from menstruating normally until you do. Your body reserves all nutrients to maintain life functions before allowing for reproduction. While you may have enough nutrients to sustain your body, if you've lost your period, you're not healthy.
3. The calorie load required to maintain a body on fruit and veg alone is extremely intense, and must be made up for with heavy exercise. If one is not able to exercise as much as Freelee, they will either a) gain weight in order to maintain the required nutrients whilst eating too many calories b) wont eat as much, and thus will not have the nutrients required. A high calorie diet that is particularly high in carbs is very hard on the body unless you can commit to expending large amounts of energy exercising and walking all of the time. Realistically, most people can not maintain a lifestyle like this with conventional jobs. Again, they either wont eat enough, or will eat too many calories for their lifestyle just to maintain nutrients, and wont be able to do the exercise to burn it off.
4. part of the anecdotal success that vegans see comes from the fact that they go from not monitoring calorie and diet intake at all, to strictly monitoring it as a vegan. Portion control, cooking methods, and food balance whether Vegan, Vegetarian, or Omnivore are the key to maintaining nutrient levels with foods and preventing illness. Health can be maintained on any of the aforementioned diets with careful monitoring.
5. BMI is an important factor that should also be considered here. I'm curious what Freelee's BMI is. BMI is another relative tool, but an indicator of health. Those with overly low BMIs suffer from heart disease and other illnesses in the long term. Over-exercising to keep off the excess calories eaten can cause its own set of problems.
Health is about balance.

hi, I realize this is an old video. was wondering about your white blood count. somewhere in read that vegans can have lowered white cells from the time they were not a vegan. the theory being that even normal range white counts in the higher range reflect bad diet and inflammation. then when you are vegan the values can be found to average lower: not because of illness, the white cells will jump and multiply if you NEED them. but the take away is that the daily average can jump down because your body is less stressed w crappie diet ect. the average normal was said to have been raised by eating SAD, ect. was wondering what your experience is? also that could reflect any healed inflammation causing low thyroid. ty

Freelee I remember you saying that you can get all needed nutrients from one fruit, but all fruits have different vitamins & in different amounts, so how can that be? I mostly eat bananas and very little other fruits, just because bananas are the most convenient, but should I be concerned about insufficient vitamins/minerals?

That's right people it is true. I go to give blood donations. My iron is right in the middle of healthy. Beet juice fresh raw and lot's of water. Among other fruits and veggies. Some are not shocked when I tell them. I am 100% vegan.

What is your blood type? I was told by a chiropractor that I should follow eating for my blood type to thrive. I know some blood types supposedly thrive on high carb. I'm interested in what you think about that. Thanks!

I became vegan months ago from watching your videos and the other amazing reasons to do so. My blood tests results are better than before and are almost exactly the same as yours now: )

Great video and great results, my bloodtests are also very similar as a vegan, except vitamin D as I live in Scotland where we don't get much sunshine!
