Calories, raw food newbies, just listen to your body etc
video description
That's why this video can be so harmful. People need to learn to trust their own instincts, and stop relying on authority telling them what's right for them. The one that knows what's right for you is you. There is a voice inside you, trying to communicate with you.
I agree if people are conditioned to live a certain way, it might be very helpful for them to see others do things differently, to lift the curtain up and reveal what's possible. But ultimately, you need to apply your own personality to anything that you do. Does that mean you are going to be a perfect at it? No, but you will learn from your mistakes, and in the end, find what's best for you. That's much more valuable than just following someone else's advice, not really knowing why or indeed even if it's the best way for you.

Abundance of food sources is great, but you should ideally eat no more than your body asks for. That's overeating otherwise. Sure you can stuff yourself with food and hit the gym to burn it, but you can also just follow your instincts and eat right, and exercise right as well. Your body will tell you when to move, when to lift, etc. it's one thing when you are out of balance after following an unhealthy lifestyle, but the more balance you get, the more you will understand what your body tells you, and what it needs.
Obviously, overeating on fruit is less of an issue than overeating on a standard diet, but ideally neither should be happening, if for nothing else, to help save our planet.
Look up Marcus Patrick, he often talks about how little he eats on some days, and he is a huge muscular guy. Mostly raw vegan too.

Saw a super sad Instagram of that sort earlier. It actually kind of infuriated me as a former anorexia sufferer. This skinny, beautiful girl was showing off what she ate. And it was like half an apple sliced up. I definitely agree it's about ABUNDANCE. People keep asking me what I'm eating, why I'm not blowing up despite being almost 20 weeks pregnant, and that is because I still have the energy to hit the gym. The first couple weeks of hclf were full of energy crashes because I wasn't used to it. I've learned to ALWAYS keep bananas and dry fruit handy. It's hard to eat huge meals while pregnant, but I've learned eating some fruit every hour gets me where I need to be.

I've seen results and lost 2-3 pant sizes in about 5 months but everyone is different. I wasn't cutting calories pre-vegan so I think that's part of why I see results. My body has repaired my issues such as im no longer hypoglycemic, iron deficient anemic, lethargic. I no longer get migraines, my red blood cells are no longer low and I sleep all night finally. Hang in there. When the results start showing it will be soo worth the work. I also go on walks with my dog every morning first thing.

FREELEE- What are your thoughts on ayurvedic nutrition and other holistic nutrition studies and forms of education and such? I'm interested in the idea of studying nutrition and we know there is a lot of bogus out there as it is in many the main stream health sciences, but I dont know much about what's behind these holistic nutrition approaches and if they are generally wish washy or if they really hold there own.
All thoughts, knowledge and opinions welcome: )
Thanks!

Hi Freelee,
My name is Madi, and I'm 15 years old. I've been following a high carb, low fat vegan lifestyle for over 3 months now in an attempt to lose weight, and I've seen no changes. Prior to this lifestyle, I never was anorexic or bulimic, I never restricted calories or was on a low-carb diet for any significant period of time, and yet I've seen no positive changes at all. I also exercise regularly, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. What do you think I should do?

Freelee, I love you and this lifestyle, BUT you're omitting a really important part, which is deficiencies. You can't leave the B12 out of this topic. Same with the D. And for those of us who have closed ones who have experienced skin cancer, getting it from the sun is out of the question.
I follow and I'll continue to follow a vegan lifestyle for ethical reasons, but I can't say it gives me all of what my body needs, cause I'd lying.

That's just going back to bad habits imposed on you by the society while not really being fully adjusted to your new lifestyle yet.
So you will have your cheesburger, then feel like shit compared to the 2 days before when you ate clean and next, you will go for 4 days without one. And before you know it, you need one only once a month.
Your body will guide you. You just need to un-program your belief systems.

Hi Freelee! Thanks so much for sharing your tips about the vegan lifestyle. I have started this lifestyle and have been following it for 7 weeks now and I have never felt better. I have one question though. Since I started eating this way I've noticed a decrease in appetite. I still eat my meals even though I'm not hungry but I am wondering is this normal?
