Timelapse - building a shipping container home with no experience off grid - vlog 172 FabianVanSteph: Privacy very importent what i saw on the Internet! I wish you all the happiness in the world and all the health there is, but since I saw these videos of you on the internet, my opinion of you has changed significantly! No offense meant, but I don't think it's a good thing when you say the child is so important, but at the same time make videos like this that he can see later!

I've been following you since the Tempe days. What a great evolutionary path you've carved for yourself, your lady, and now child. It's a shame more people do not recycle containers into useable homes, whether that be stifled by law, policy, ordinances or just a lack of making your aspirations bud to fruition. Because of your videos I was able to turn my arrid desert property into an oasis with edible fruit trees and natural shade. My wife and I now are in Florida working on another property we plan to turn into a tropical oasis utilizing some of the same methods we learned from your past vids. I applaud your perseverance to making your dreams and aspirations come to fruition. Please continue to share more vids, as I know (like myself, they've been a good inspiration for many.

Amazingly wide. pretty cool. I am following an American couple who have a similar housing. with 6 - 4 flowers- containers housing. a very heavy material with the all open windows. and another couple, now with 2 little ones, with the 2 connected ones with and enlarged material in the between as their main house and another one for visiting relatives housing. they all have had wonderful ideas and very cool seeing your new goals ahead, it will certainly provide you a very strong new housing concept the best is always seeing how you couples are very determined helping one another and being the possibility of all many ideas becoming your nice home

You guys are so awesome! I remember the building of the yurt. Watching your story unfold is such a blessing and treasure. Jake has become a hoss over the years and Nicolle has been a mighty pillar of a woman. Fox is beautiful and will most likely be an even more amazing person than his parents. no offense. Every parents wish for their child. Congratulations on this great accomplishment and so many more to come. Modern day homesteaders, off grid and free from the idiocrasy of this insane over indulged world. Cheers!

One idea for double door becoming the wood stove/fireplace: Don t weld the doors shut. Simply open them up 45 degrees and create a bay You can cantilever the floor to support the wood stove and put a roof (with venting) over the two open doors. Then just weld a back to the edges of the two open doors. This will give you more floor space and a unique alcove to show off the beautiful wood stove.

Hopefully, you have thought of leveling the foundation the containers are sitting on. I have seen containers that have been finished and can look fancy, also stylish living. Should look awesome after you do finish in a few years. Have thought of a roof over the containers, unless you both like the sound of rain or hail beating against the containers.

The floors have nasty chemicals in them, so you prob want take them out. you can replace them with dry pour concrete or whatever. You can cut out a full door to the balcony and cover that with dry pour concrete (again. see Cajun Country Livin'. also see Pacific Pines Ranch and their container build. Looks good!

Very nice, you guys! Hopefully you'll have many happy years living there and that everything goes as planned. I do have one burning question from the last two videos. Is Kai still part of your wonderful family? It seems like I've only seen one dog in the last couple of videos.

You all have worked very hard and accomplished so much. Now that your having children you needed this home. Container homes are great because you can always add on or reconfigure the containers depending on your needs. All of those windows are fabulous.

Look up Shapton glass HC stones. You don t have to soak, only spritz, their grits go, even though you don t need that high, all the way up to 30, 000 grit, 6-8k is plenty. Anyway, they have a superior system for sharpening, to anything out there.

Hater alert: so you guys claim to be off the grid? you started with a yurt and you chop tons of trees, now you'r building a container house using cranes, concrete blocks, etc, that is everything but off the grid. White privilege all over the place.
