Please note that we do have several sugar regions i. e. Ingham, Bundaberg, Ayr and Bowen. AND George Christiansen was behind the door when the brains were handed out and doesn't represent normal Australians. So it's normal to have to get a gastric bypass surgery? When are our politicians going to stop pandering to big companies and farmers and start putting in place policy that can fight the obesity epidemic.

Taxing doesn't do anything. Vice taxes are a tax on the poor. HFCS is literally the only calories that people can afford in most cases.
It's not preferred because companies are the devil, it's preferred because corn is highly subsidized.
So by subsidizing corn and taxing sugar you are literally moving money from the poor to the richest companies in the world.

Sugar and cocaine are two very pleasant things, but each of them is dangerous in its own way. Cocaine is a real criminal article and in the end a disappointment in life. But you can also drink coffee without sugar, if your life is already so sweet. so that all the pleasures of life that care for health and dyschhous rest rest.

Yes, why not raise the cost of living here even higher? You lot have no place in telling us what needs to be done when your country is in complete disarray. Go fix that first, world police. I don't hate Americans. I hate people with mindsets like the ones we're seeing here - obnoxious and hypocritical.

On average, every Australian is bitten by a shark 78 times a year. Approximately half of all these bites are in the groin area.
Considering these facts, JUST LET THEM EAT WHAT THEY WANT!
p. s. Fosters is Australian for beer.

Seriously, George Christensen. Walk the walk. If you want to speak on sugar, you might want to try not to be morbidly obese. Sure, you have a right to be overweight, or smoke, or drink. It doesn't mean health promotion shouldn't act.

Doesn't want the government to have control over sugar intake and diet, but is happy to travel to Malasia to undergo a serious surgery which it's only role is to control his food intake for him. Crazy.
