Chinese researchers have discovered a new way to make water droplets spin, creating a potential new kind of hydropower. Read the story here: Su: The droplets defy expectations maybe, but not physics. - How much energy has to be put into the system to have water continuously falling straight downward to set something in motion that could win energy? It would only make sense if the energy for the downward motion came from sun, wind or waterfall. - An interesting question is: Could waterdroplets shot straight in zero gravity set something in motion with this method that couldn't be set into motion otherwise?

This is not a perpetual motion machine. There is no way to harvest energy from the system that is not given to it from the physical objects involved. Lunacy. I wonder if this guy is their science editor.
