The female boxers smashing gender stereotypes - truly

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
IN a small village in Punjab, young girls are challenging gender stereotypes - by entering the male-dominated world of boxing. The 'Sher-E Punjab Academy' has taken it upon themselves to train the girls and help them achieve their dreams. The academy started up in 2006, and as of now, they have 40-50 young children training in their ranks. A large motivation behind opening the academy, was addressing the disparity that many were facing in terms of drug use, violence and other injustices in the village. Since the opening, the academy has developed athletes that have been able to compete on all stages - village, state, national and international. It's good that they pursue martial arts. something thats been a part of my life for 15 years and that i love dearly. BUT to put women against men is insane. We as males are built for warfare. We hit MUCH harder, we're faster and more explosive. It's just like how a 12 year old should never fight a 25 year old. The leap is that big. Believe they measured the power of strikes from an average man compared to trained women and the men hit something like 162% harder than the women. And those guys are average men not trained.

Hahaha this video is exactly how i would picture girl boxing, few air punches, couple of jumps so they think you know what your doing and they probably went for a tea and knitting after the match, im sorry but woman care way too much about looks to take the hardest challanges so its always girl vs girl cus one punch from a guy (if his actually serious and not let them easy) can make her pass out Sorry Not Sorry just Facts

What stereotype are they smashing exactly? You realize that when the boys reach puberty they will stand no chance right? It is not a stereotype, its a safety concern. In fact, because boys reach puberty later than girls, it is not even fair to the boys to be fighting girls of the same age. Never give these girls hope that they will be able to fight men in adulthood, or they will get serious brain damage.

Finally India has woken up from a long dream those days as mentioned in the video india was a serious serious male dominated society even today it is still but slight improvements are there like these girls getting into boxing India honestly has a long way to go in terms of gender equality and economic progress

This made me cry.
It's so good and I can't wait until one wins Olympic gold and/or becomes a world famous champion. I feel there's a HUGE amount of fame in cards for one or two of those girls.
I'm sensing controversy as well. Something to do with being too aggressive.

It is nice to see people pursue their passion regardless of their gender, but in this case, telling these girls they can be as good as the men is simply delusional. Instead of comparing them with boys they should just focus on being the best versions of themselves.
reply

Put them against boys of equal physical stature and see how long their dreams last. But ya: ) challenge away sisters. Ask Fallon fox, or whatever he/she name is. Lady boy mopped the floor when he/she went into the womens division of the UFC.
reply

Wait but like, wouldn-t they get hurt if they actually fight a dude? Like, us women are smaller and softer due to evolution. So like, wouldn-t they get hurt if they go up against trained men?
BTW, I-m not a salty male. I-m a girl.

reply

People care about girls more than boys. They don't want to see girls being hurt so there is gender stereotypes. Stop making everything about gender. Everything has a reason no one loves or hate someone for nothing Use your brains.

Red color boxer is giveing wrong hooks 2: 40 she falling into it. One perfect hook on thrust punch is enough to knock her out if other opponents are not scared of that wiggly hooks. But ya she may become best boxer.

Knuckles from Sonic Boom said it best. He's more of a feminist, well, egalitarian than the lunatics that hijacked the movement today.
No one controls biology, but anyone can exercise.

I enjoy watching them and it must be very empowering. My only problem is that if a girl gets facial disfigurement as a result its more stigmatizing.
reply

smash gender stereotypes? if they can compete against and dominate the male boxers, then sure. follow your dreams. but know your limits.
reply

It's all fun and games until they reach adulthood, when a trans-woman- enters the ring. Then the smashing will begin, truly.
reply

Great the girls r getting a chance to box if that's what they want to do, their r some good female boxers around the world
reply

They find a few girls boxing in some 3rd world hell hole and this is proof of what? That lefties prey on children everywhere?
reply

Great job girls! But we don't need a men and women boxing challenge. - No, one wants to see that type of slaughter.
reply

To the people saying gender stereotypes are new. It is in India. India is factually the worst place to be a woman.
reply

They will be able to protect themselves from male abuse so prevalent in that culture in the relationships.
reply

The comments are rather hateful and insecure. A couple of girls who enjoy boxing shouldn-t threaten anyone.
reply

not understand what stereotype this is smashing. women have been boxing professionally for a long time
