This video randomly came up for me. I'm thinking it's because of my searches on port wine stains. My daughter, who is 9, has a port wine stain on her leg. She was born with KT syndrome. There are kids already bullying her for it. I am deeply saddened by this. As her father, I don't know what to do. I was bullied when I was a kid and I know my parents interactions made it worse. I am stuck and don't know what to do. She has to wear a compression stocking to help with swelling. There are kids making fun of her for it. It really drags me down. I try to be strong for her, but I can only be strong for so long. I can't show weakness in front of her. Behind closed doors I'm a mess over it.

Have you ever seen a boy with funny clothes? A girl with braces on her teeth or freckles on her nose? Some kids call them odd balls, some kids call them weird. God makes lots of people in all colors, shapes, & sizes. He loves them very much & what we need to realize is that calling people names because they're different is wrong.
Yea, we-re all pretty different. Some are skinny, some are stout.
But the inside is the part we-re supposed to care about.
Aye! That-s why we have feelings that are very much the same. So instead of saying -wierdo- I think -friends- is a better name.

I have a huge port wine stain birthmark on the back of my left thigh down to the crease of the back of my knee. And it skips my calf and goes to the left side of my foot. I'm black and I've always wondered how much it would stand out if I had lighter skin. I've always thought it was kind of cool and unique. I'm sure if I had it on my face, and had to endure bullying from kids I'd probably feel a little different, but I think he looks perfectly normal.

I had one that covered my entire back and was raised up my mom was heartbroken for me to be a girl and knowing what I'd go through wearing bathing suits growing up but mine shrunk down over my young years and its basically invisible now. I have a Point wine stain on my right hand and arm and chest and back! They thought I had to get my right arm cut off and I get bullied all the time by it and stuff but I have to look the other way and say I am beautiful the way I am made!

One of my friends has a birthmark similar to this that is basically half his face. I know he has struggled with being picked on and all too. He is like a brother to me and I hate that he has to go through that.

Sturge-Weber Syndrome can cause such port wine stains. These are really vascular conditions. I know 2 people with port wine stains and they are very outgoing and confident. Keep on going sir!
